If I can get somewhere on the trans swap I will be there. The swap itself should be fairly straight forward once I get time to work on it. Getting the manual file in the ECU and getting a driveshaft made for the rear after the trans is in are going to be hang ups. I could do a write up on Shane's Jeep and park that in place of the Megacab if I can't get a drivable truck in a month.

OK. Build thread is going. I just need to get some current pics with the full cage, Camburg rear end and Link Killer kit. . I will up date it this weekend. Hopefully the truck is ok to be in your booth. Its nothing crazy, but does show it can be achieved by a kid saving his money. Took my kid 9 years to get to this point of the truck. All paid by him saving money.

Starting a little build/spec list of my kids 04 Ranger Prerunner. Putting this together for the BLGT Off Road Expo booth. Hopefully you all thinks its good enough to put in the booth.
So its an 2004 Ranger XLT with the awesome 3.0

The day he got the Ranger in 2016. Rocking an RCD lift with 31's.


Still in 2016.
As with most broke high school kids. It starts off with new Methods and 33" BFG tires and some Maxtrac spindles. Bumper valance delete with the sweet bent back front plate. Rear angled cut bed. And a rear tube bumper made by his my brother his uncle.

Ranger is more than worthy if you ask me. My Raptor is way less built lol.

It will be a good showing of home built trucks, trucks with bolt ons and everything in between. I think the best part will be it’s a good showing of the weekend warrior budget builds. Some people have 10 years of breaking/upgrading and some are in the earlier stages of that. For sure going to be some oil stains on the asphalt Sunday evening and that’s all that matters

Room is booked at the Star Inn Motel for the weekend. Walking distance to the fairgrounds. Wes should be coming with me now, ill just pull him out of school early on that Friday and try to make it to the fairgrounds before 4pm.

I was looking into motels down that way as well for me and the two younger boys for the whole weekend but school is throwing a wrench into that plan a bit. Hanging out in a parking by the beach for the weekend sounds like more fun than driving back and forth but just have to figure out who to disappoint. Either way we'll be there with a big green family crawler that may be running.

@dwphoto might have me convinced to clean up and limp down the Dodge as is. I will probably come back with @4lowlance if he has space then come back Saturday with Shane after he gets off work in the morning. That way we will only have one hotel night. The Star Inn looks like the cheapest and fairly close like @WW_RANGER_X stated.
@Jared MacLeod are you going to have a FOOD booth?

Might be too early to tell but things aren’t looking as good for my rig to make it. Motor isn’t running like it was, on top of the list I want to clean up before it’s seen by the masses lol we will see

That's what I was thinking. Mikey is a massive part of my kids ranger. And I really need to Bruce's shortened F-250 in person.

Replying back to the thread after talking over DM. And im in, truck will be doing 300 miles through the mojave desert the weekend before. Ill do a trip breakdown and do some updates on the build thread prior. Sounds like a great time.

Leave the truck dirty full of camping gear? Or clean for the show and shine?
