Local Legend Don't Call It An S10

Bushings on links? Old leaf spring habits die hard.

I've always ran bushings on front of links and heims at axle. Never had a problem and races for years without any wear or issues on bushings. Weld the tube at correct angle so they don't squish weird and it's all good.

Next, it will be a heim/rod end on the axle side.

*gasp* You boys are nuts. This truck will never work. Miters, not nearly enough gold, building the truck how he wants...we all know Bodjy is in trouble with this one.

Luckily no one likes S10s anyways.

Well you can't read the title and it's not an s10. It a Sonoma. Way better because GMC is generally more than Chevy

Well a Silverado sucks too since they start with an s. Lol
sFord

You’re extension piece to the miter. I’m sure it’ll work, I just like to talk shit.

.. and this

Hah yeah I knew it would have some controversy.

And yeah, I'm pretty short :(

Side note: Got my argon bottle refilled and cut all the side plates for the lower links yesterday. Going to try having the lowers welded up by the end of the day.

All the links are fully welded and ready to rock. Time to finish welding the mounts, burn on the axle truss, and get to assembling the rear end.

Added a weep hole for any water that may collect in the lower links

I'm a little excited right now, as you can see in this video. I've been waiting 12 years to have a linked truck, and it's AWESOME to get to see it at this point.

While your deadlift form is garbage, the fab is not. Looking good!

Are you going to can-opener the cab to get to the c-pillar for the bed cage? Tying in below the window looks like it'll be a gas.

So no bypass???????????

Correct. The plan since the beginning has been single shock on all corners. I'm not looking for max performance out of this truck. I want to be comfortable, not wear headsets, have heat and AC, go at a decent pace, and explore places.

Bro, I'm like, really strong. And are crocs not proper deadlift attire? Thanks!

Yeah, I'll be going beneath the window. It should actually be really easy to do. I may either just hole saw the holes so I can stub tubes through (plenty of room inside the cab to weld it in), or I may just cut a big rectangle so I have enough room to do what I need to do, and I'll weld in a patch panel and rhino line the back of the cab. I'm not running down tubes from above the window.

more importantly, no annoying bypass clicking

Here's where I ended off for today. Stoked with the progress, and stoked with the travel numbers! I was expecting 19", and bump/strapped at 18" with a 14" shock and pretty close to the axle. I ended up getting like a 1.68 motion ratio, kept the shocks at 90* at bump, getting 22.25" metal to metal (12.5" up, 9.75" down), and I'll be limiting it to 21". Very pleased with how the day went. Tomorrow I'd like to get the rectangular tube frame section in place.

All shock mount plates are cut. It'll be getting boxed in.

Brakes came in from Speedway, so I bolted them up and held them in place to see how it looks. The bleed nipple has to be pointing up, correct?

Set the bedside in place(ish) and rested the gas tank behind the axle to see how far back the frame rails need to come. I'm not a fan of this glass, but I'm going to see what I can do to make it work. Might just be a failed $400 experiment

Got started with the 2x4x0.250 frame sections. Just did pie cuts and bent them. Nothing is tacked in place yet, so it's not perfect, but I had to stop so I can head back to work and help with graduation.
