Here’s some pics of the truck with the front glass mounted. I jacked up the front of the truck to put the bumps stops on so it’s sitting kinda funny. I got the interior mostly put together as well. Waiting on a carpet kit then I’ll put the seats in. I welded on a cool lil bracket to hold the harness up so it’s not just relaxing on the zip ties. I still haven’t figured out a solution to all those plugs yet. The skid plate needs another tab in the center cause the clip nuts aren’t letting it sit flush. I also had to extend the head light wires and turn signal wires for how I have it routed, But anyways making progress!

Haven’t posted in a couple weeks but I’ve been chipping away at getting this thing ready for Presidents’ Day weekend. Stainless hairline for the fuel breather ran, aux beam installed (Chinese switch pros lol) center counsel finalized and mounted. Exhaust all 2.5” stainless, carpet is in as well as the dash mat. Seats and harness in. Have to finish exhaust mounts. Mount the fire extinguisher, the license plate. Fuel filler will come after Presidents’ Day. Any who here’s some pics

Here’s some final details! Fire extinguisher mount, license plate mount, max trac mounts. The truck drove like shit cause it was only running on 5 cylinders so I took apart the plenum and plan to test these injectiors and see what’s going on cause it wasn’t firing on cylinder #1

Yah that’s the plan! I’ve got the material. I’ve also got a marine sending unit off Amazon that I’m gonna incorporate into the cell. Plan is to put the filler neck just above the license plate. I was trying to get it running and going to possibly test it out this weekend but shit isn’t cooperating

Well I’ve been driving the truck for about a week. The brake master cylinder set up I had in there sucked this thing wouldn’t stop. It’s a 2 port single master 1” bore.. anyways par for the course for me I like to learn the hard way lol I started to weigh my options and here’s what I’ve come up with, luckily my dad doesn’t throw anything away and he had a CNC pedal assembly from a shop he used to work at and I had a set of 7/8 cnc master cylinders. Now the factory mount is cast, gonna see if and how well this holds up. I’ll post pics as I go. If not probably gonna have make something to hold the steering column.. this sheet metal where the old master was is nasty filled with body sealant and needless to say not fun to weld

Dialing in these dual brake master cylinder’s utilizing the factory steering column mount was a chore but here’s the final product.

Does anyone know if the 4.0 sohc headers will work on the OHV 4.0? Been a struggle to find headers for my truck. Headman seems to be the only ones and there supposedly available in August? Any insight would be appreciated

No ports are diff and bolt patterns not even close .

Haven’t posted about the truck in a bit. Spent some time dialing in the toe, truck had a bit to much toe in but got that sorted out. Had to shorten my driveshaft another 1/2” cause apparently at full bump you want somewhere in the range of 1/2” 3/4” of more plunge to account for flex and movement. I also ended up having to barrel sand the shit out of the U joint to get clearance at full bump. I missed putting a drain plug in the rear housing so that’s on my list of things to do. Also working on a fuel filler and fuel depth sensor. I’ll post some pics of that. One last note on the drive shaft.. I built a cool removable hoop in case this thing ever decided to eject.

Well I managed to screw something up putting this c4 together. The center input shaft slid out about a half inch. So when I finally got it to go in so the torque converter would seat all the way the thrust bearing must of gotten damaged. I bought a book on how to rebuild c4s. I’m not sure if this was ever put together right but here I am lol. I pulled this thing for a leaky tail shaft seal and a leaking oil pan seal on the back of the motor. So I decided to drop the pan on the trans and found the metal shavings lol

Not sure if this is of any help. But i had a c4 built years ago and installed the 300M input shaft... the way it was machined made it slide back some and gave me engagement issues as well. Trans builder had me to back to the stock input shaft as the splines were not as deep and kept it in its place, his only other suggestion as to do some sort of "button" to keep the input and mid shaft play minmal keeping the input shaft from sliding back.

I noticed this has a different input shaft than stock. I have another tranny as a donor for parts. I was having engagement issues as well with my torque converter but I got that sorted. I feel like once I fix it this might be some trial and error

I think I figured out what cause the binding in the trans. The first time I took the truck out the driveshaft was about 1/2” to long and it possibly under full bump crushed that bearing cause it was pushing the tail shaft in.. idk it’s rebuilt and plan to do some street miles and see what it does haha
