Cruised from Slash ex toward the 15 followed the power line road to stoddard wells then all the way into Apple valley popped out 2 exits before the 18 in victorville pretty epic little bonus line.
Hoped on the road metcho had a flat so we changed that out. Right next to the Walmart distribution center. Shits Huge!

Then metcho and I had designs on taking Angeles crest hwy ( 2) through the mountains and it drops you further down the 14... Well it was closed so we ended up doing a prerunner canyon run down to the 210. Arrived home just as the sun was going down.

Yes Sir. Did a F67 delete and picked up some All Pro 50T's. Empty is gunna probably ride like a dump truck but loaded ( which I always seem to be) Might have more than 4 inch of uptravel now!

Finnally got to work on axle swap. Still need to make shock mounts and to put leafs back together. Pretty stoked though looks better than 7.5 axle

another epic weekend.
Put another 120 miles or so on her. Checked out some cool shit. New leaf springs and axle are bitchen. Only issue i had was a leaky brake line.
Got stuck a few times in the superstition mountains...wasnt aired down enough was only at 22 psi.

Managed to send it a few times this weekend.

Welp got back from KOH Friday Night late. Had a great time out there with my Dad. It was first time out in the desert to a race or in a prerunner. Needless to say he was stoked. At one point we were crusing at a pretty good pace on the race course 30 or so though some pretty good side whoops. he asks me " what happens if we bump it up 10 mph" I look over at him like wtf " did he just call me out? haha I push my foot down. hes like" now we are talking!" haha good times

Any way got home Friday. Saturday relaxed unpacked the truck and cleaned up garage and tool box stoked!

Washed the truck this afternoon after a little mtb ride.

Then went to work

Well got to work today. Lots to do. I wont have the kit back until after battle at Primm.
Truck needs to be done by March 8th.

Today-

Cleaned up and paint the TC solid trans mount.
Rocklights are done
Power Steering bracket is off
Oil is drained

Power steering pump bracket... looks like it might be cracked ?

She was a lot of fun to pull out. Let me tell you.

Gimme Sand Cruised over and help me out with the rock lights.

Going to replace a few other things while I have everything apart.

New radiator hoses
New Alternator? maybe ?
Fan clutch
All new hardware, hiems, Uniballs, Bushings.
Fluids

This full kill prep keeps getting better.

found the clunk i had in the front.... one of the uniballs was pretty clapped.

Did a little inventory. All new hardware on the way..

need to adjust ride height still and align
install Skid plates
new oil drain plug gasket.

Bleed brakes

But stoked to have her back on all fours

Somehow nothing got sucked up all the way in to the intake. we pulled it all apart cleaned it as much as we could and put it all back together and i think it ran better lol
I wasnt even holding up the group cause all of the 4x4 guys were working on getting unstuck lol

We continued on pretty high up in the mountains in DV then turned around and cruised back a bit camps then some dirt home
back to Torona.

Stoked I got a chance to take my parents out over the last weekend. They were both so stoked. Both of the had grins ear to ear while shredding the dunes. My Mom a few times was like HOLY SHIT we are going down that!

Replaced master Clutch Cyl while I was at it.

Got it all back together. Drove it around the block like a baus with out a hood. Kids were hitting there flat bills on the ground like beaver tails... GET IT

Yea its nice when your roomate has access to such tools.

Just should have replaced those bushings sooner than I did. Apparently that sleeve couldn't handle the the awesome. New bushings are already on the truck and TC had the sleeves in stock we didnt have any of the correct tubing so... should have that buttoned up tmw night

Those mounts look cool. I'm not really a fan of the sliders but they are the best commercially available. I recently installed a set and they are a biotch to get aligned right when everything is cranked down. Better than nothing for sure though.

1000 Mile trip 500 dirt miles with zero issues.

Haven't updated this in awhile.

I've been on a few trips since the Grand Canyon trip. Only real failure that ive had is going through a few bulbs in my dust light.
just been doing oil changes, Nut and bolt checks, Look over everything and Run it.

truck has been flawless.

Hmmmm Updates new headlights and dust light. Going to be ordering up 2 new methods for matching spare wheels.... changed oil 3 or 4 times since last post December..

Gone a few trips this year so far... Beat the piss out of her and she still gets me home...

After that last Death Valley trip. Decided that Maxcold cooler I've been running for past 7 years was a pile...
Was going back and forth on Yeti or Pelican. Decided to stick with pelican as I have 6 of their cases. Build to last. Lifetime warranty. 7-10 day ice retention.
Has build in tie downs molded into to the cooler so you don't have to have unstrap everything to get the cooler lid open. Going to install a few d-rings on the floor.

Tested it out in the back yard yesterday with a few sport sodas during the kings game... Still going strong this afternoon with the sun right on it.

Pismo This weekend was an awesome time...another flawless weekend.

Stopped by the beach for a little fathers day beach sesh.... Used truck as a Bassett hound anchor.

Going to be heading out to pismo again late july.
So in the next month going to get some prep hammered out.

Going to pull radiator and replace the following

all Coolant hoses
T stat
Fan Clutch
Belts
Plugs
Wires
Valve cover gasket is leaking like a mofo
change oil
change diff oil..
pull shocks off revavle/ Rebuild rear put 90 degree fitting on for better clearance in bed cage.

Mount paddle tires!. Anyone have 2 15x10 5 on 4.5 ?

Mount tie down points in bed for cooler.
Cut off flag mount and reweld tab.

Re align steering


In the next few months going to be getting a few new batteries, at least 2 new tires as my fronts are getting pretty clapped.

Stoked kinda re-energized on the truck after spending a little time away doing other stuff.

Got a little to pitted this weekend

Cracked axle housing. on both spring perches going to Tear down the rear and weld up cracks. Needed a excuse to pull the axle out and repaint it. lol

8 inch Rod in the sidewall @##$^$%^ .. Naturally I just plugged it and still is holding air just fine.

Motor has some issues with bogging down under load. Had to get towed up a steep up hill as the truck would not run.. even with slipping the clutch. Thinking is AFM ( MAF) related. or fuel related going to change out fuel filter and do a few diagnostic tests on the MAF.

kept dying on me in the sand. Scotty had to nerf me in 4x4 to get me going lol

She still didn't leave me stranded.... this truck.. thing is a champion.

FYI the sensor that operates the stock cluster and the sensor that the ECU uses are 2 separate sensors. If it is WAY out of wack it will cause the CEL to light up, but the stock gauge will still work.

Radiator has given me issues a few times. Next time your out in the desert with us reminded to tell you about the 5 hours trip to barstow Max and I had. Involved 5 gallons of water and a six pack of eggs and a work glove and some JB weld. lol

The motor issue has been a problem for a few trips actually just seems to be getting worse so i actually need to do something about it.
Name of the game is to replace shit before you end up stranded in BFE without a paddle. All the bushings, Hardware, Clutch, Master cyl, belts, Slave cyl, Timing chain,water pump, oil pump, Drive shaft, wheel bearings, etc ,etc, etc.

I think I have mental issues but I think breaking shit and making it work with what you've got is half the fun lol. Duct tape, JBweld and pennys, Vise grips, Hope and dreams makes for some good camp fire stories.

Got to work on tearing down the rear this afternoon.. I've got it down under 2 hours. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing. haha..

Axle housing cracks are looking good. No wonder it was pissing gear oil. hahha I'll have some photos tmw of those.


Picked up some paint for the axle housing going to get it wire wheeled and welded up and painted this week.

Going to keep an eye out for a new S runner axle to Truss and beef up. Kinda of a while unicorn haha

repainted shackles and the rear of the frame.


new nuts and bolts/ ubolts/ bushings for the rear should go together Should be back on all 4s by Saturday.

After painting tonight im still waiting on a few parts. So i tackled the Fuel Filter..... pretty simple really. kind of a bitch to get to some one put a bunch of tubes in the way.
Hoping this is going to help my quest to fix my bogging issue!

Jack karate chopped the rear view

wasted the lower arm, Sub frame, Shock shaft, and cracked the spindle. ( so far this what we have discovered)

Jack And I sent a razor back about 45 ft to front bumper... I was following my buddy lutz in his baja bug. Saw him go over this "roller" or so i thought. We hit it probably somewhere between 15 to 20ish mph. Other than a few small cuts and sore bodies we both walked away unscathed.

The fix that let me drive myself out of the dunes and all the way back to camp...

But first we needed more fail. Tucker ended up nearly getting The Destroyer stuck in a bowl managed to get out after rocking it back and forth 5 or 6 times and wasting his bumper on a sharp edge of the bowl. He can chime in with a better photo of the damage. it was pretty bad but just cosmetic.

Drove all the way back to camp under my own power. in 1st gear. then on to the trailer that i was pulled in on...
