These are the motor mounts that came with the kit, and I was definitely not pleased with their quality or strength potential so I decided to make my own

These are what I came up with as well as the trans mount. The trans mount uses stock tundra coilover lower rod ends

I also got sick of the transmission jack being a pain in the ass to juggle so I made a custom transmission mount for the jack that bolts to the transmission mount on the body of the housing. That way it always stays in place and you don’t need to use a chain or strap to hold the transmission.

The radiator is out of a hilux diesel and bolts into the core support

After seeing this build for a while I finally
Put two and two together.

So since this +1 kit is unobtainable do you think upper arm and expedition arms with the bypass shock hoop and uniball conversion can be tuned to be as capable as your truck is?

I’m trying to convince my 17 year old we don’t need to do true long travel and that snowball. Even though price is the same for the most part. Since we already have an upper arm and ext king shock.

Also, thoughts on front duro bumps vs the hydro bump?

Does he have a Tacoma or a 3rd gen 4runner - long travel on the front of either will always be limited by the stock rear setup on either platform. A stock width front with a spring under (Tacoma) rear or a 3 link (4runner) rear will outperform a truck with long travel in the front and stock length springs in the rear or the 4 link with the panhard. My wife's 3rd gen 4runner has Solo uppers and lowers and King OE replacements up front and 2.5 smoothies in the rear and it is a lot of fun to use as a daily, but if I were going to add anything to use it for more than I use it for, it would be to the rear and leave the front with the stock length arms and do a FGP 3 link reusing the stock coils and an outboard shock relocation. On a Tacoma I'd do the same thing with 62" springs like this one.

no idea whose truck but high desert motorsports had a taco on their ig page with stock width uppers and lowers with hydro bump and ext travel shock that worked super well. I pulled about same rear travel as a standard 3.5” LT kit would with my osr and 12” shock setup on my 4runner though.

Sorry for the delay, but yes I think with a good tuned coilover and bypass you can get almost anything to work really well. The other thing I have that helped get more wheel travel is that I converted to the Tundra inner CV joint which allowed for I think an inch more droop travel.

BUT, who built your cv axles?
It started with my truck when it was stock width. The outer joints on the Tacoma and Tundra are the same joint so we had summer brothers machine a set of stock width axle shafts that are Tacoma/4-Runner length but use the Tundra inner CV joint. Then when we did the Military job we had them make us 1" axles that used the Tundra inner CV joint.

Dunes are on the West of 1-15 off lynwood road. Not East Stoddard wells off-road area.

That’s why I’ve never seen them, I’ve only been on that side of the 15 once for a clean up probably 2007/2008’ish
 
Some images from Speed Metal a few weeks ago. The first time out in the morning I was being a sissy and didn't think I would be jumping any of the jumps, but when I came back to out booth I got a ration of shit from everyone for not jumping. I explained that this is my daily driver, and that I still needed to drive it home. After about 5 minutes of listening to everyone call me a pussy I said "fuck it" and in the second session I pulled out my Tampon and sent it. I would like to say the smooth landing was all because of my shock valving, but a large part of the smooth landing is thanks to the transition. If you hit it at the perfect speed the landing was so smooth you could have done it jumped it in damn near anything and had a good landing. I over jumped it a couple times and it definitely used all of the bump stops.
