Fenderfab Ranger

I have beard plus 2 for front seats in my ranger and a standard beard in the rear. it comes out and I made mounts for my sons prp youth seat. its for sure a tight fit to get back there but for him it will do for a few years and then ill change it up in the front and mount some more narrower seats. my thing is seat belts. what is everyone that has smaller kids use. I feel like the average harnesses are to thick for them.
Would love to see some pics if you have them!

Continued with some demo last night. Batteries are removed, i did a really shitty job of mounting these battery boxes when i built the cage 12 years ago so i need to do some heavy cutting to get them out. Batteries are going to be moved to the back half of the truck.

I mocked up one of my beard seats in the center in the rear, theres no way i will fit 3 of these in here. I talked to marcel last night and i have a few ideas.

I am thinking of changing the 2 front seats to recliner seats and on sliders. That way i can swing the backrest forward and have access to the sides of the rear seat for storage etc. I am planning to use the same PRP preteen kid seat that marcel used in his truck centered in the rear of the cab. Regardless of the layout i am going to move the front seats forward some to have a more usable layout.

Realistically this is a temporary solution for the next couple years. Im sure down the line i will be building something bigger. I have definetly kicked around the idea of cutting the truck apart and installing a crew cab ranger cab on it but im not willing to take on that extensive of a project right now. I think ideally if funds allow i will keep my ranger and either build something full size or sell it and start a new build.

I used a replacement set of graco car seat harnesses. Works so good for my 1 year old!

Need to throw a quick thank you to Marcel and Kevin! @marcytech @DialedShockPrep You guys have seriously helped me figure out this 3 seat conversion and its looking like I am going to be able to fit 3 full size seats with some modifications in here.

Im working on removing the battery trays that i unfortunately welded to the factory floor so those are getting cutout and relocated to the back half.

The interior will be getting full sound deadening as well as a black carpet kit. The next step to this renovation will be pulling the dash and i will be removing all of the aluminum panels and Dzus fasteners on the firewall tunnel and fully welding the firewall so its all sealed. The interior firewall has a ton of voids which allows way too much heat inside the cab.

I am possibly considering installing a new dash or at a minimum reworking the dash i have and getting it wrapped in suede. Likely i will rewire the cab portion of the truck and simplify the system a bit.

I am stuffing that same child seat marcel posted above in 2ghetto. It's tiny and barely fits.

I don't see anyway I could fit 3x full size seats. I'd have to see that in person and try to sit in there.

its been a project thats for sure.

This third seat is going to be tight for a larger person (mainly leg room). I was sitting in the third seat in mine the other day and its not terrible. Mainly for smaller people, kids etc.

I am running large size seats in the front and a medium in the rear. I ordered my two larges for mock up to make sure the third seat would fit and it does.

Post some pics!
You got it man!

Heres a couple.

So i ordered only 2 of the large seats to start to verify the third (Smaller) seat would fit in the back. Third seat should be here tomorrow.

I am running 2 larges in the front and a medium in the rear. Working on my seat mount. I am building a removable bolt on seat mount system to hold all three seats. Waiting on some laser cut mounts at the moment.

Working on the last panel for the firewall and finishing up the carpeting as well. Progress has been slow but its getting closer. I rewired the truck as well. Running real ignition system now with a key and the rest of the truck is on PDM.

The back plate on the c pillar has an onboard battery charger now, and will be getting a small inverter as well for longer trips when i need to power something.

The main goal here with this project was to seal the entire cabin, make it more comfortable and sound proof and clean up all the wiring.

Few other things im working on.

Adding lights to the truck- ive been back and forth on this- i decided i am NOT doing roof mounted lights. Im going to install 4 KC pods on the grill which will be attached to the hinged hood structure.

For belts for the third seat i am going to run a 3" 4 point Prp harness to match the fronts.

Running the same dash i had before but getting it wrapped in suede to match the new seats and the door panels.

Thats about it for this year, just working to get the interior done and going to enjoy the truck this season. Our baby is coming in about 6 weeks so final crunch time to get the truck done and planning to do some good day trips this season. I really want to go to the clean dezert clean up in november so i am shooting for that as my first trip if anyone else is going out and wants to meet up let me know!

i mean, it's def tight ... but in there!

how far is that back cross tube from c-pillar to c-pillar away from the rear of cab?

Here is my ranger with some beard seats in it. The front 2 are +2 and the rear is a standard. It’s for sure tight but a skinny person can get back there.

Is the material on ur door panel's the alcantera wrap stuff.

I got it wrapped at an interior shop it’s foam underlayer with stitched suede.

I was looking at the adhesive alcantera stuff for my dash actually. It’s about 75$ for the material. Not sure if I wanna give it a shot or just get it professionally done

It’s just about touching the back of the cab! I’ve seen other 3 seat rangers that don’t have the vertical tube on the c pillar. But I don’t want to remove a large section of structure. It probably would be totally fine but I’m gonna run it how it is. Plus the third seat will be a smaller size which should help it fit a bit looser.

Ya I bought a 8x10 sheet of the adhesive one for my roof panels and center console and was seeing if the stuff you had was it and had experience.
