1994 ford explorer!

Interesting morsel on the fox body master cylinder. I'm running a 2nd gen master on my 1st gen w F150 front brakes and rear 2nd gen discs. It works great. But I'm curious if the Mustang one would work better. Or even an f150/Bronco unit.

So I looked this up lastnight
Stock bore is 1”
Your bore is 1-1/16
Mine is 1-1/8

Bigger more = more volume/less pressure. Single piston disc brakes require more volume than the stock drums so I’d say we’re both juuust fine!

So
The F350 is 1.25".......
The F150 is 1.0625".....
That's interesting that the sploder is the same as the F150. I figured it would be a bit larger.

The port side is flipped, I run a bronco/f150 on my explorer so the line point out for more clearance. 4 piston Wilwood all corners, stops "okay" lol need to do something different.

you might need this Mustang master. It has 3 ports on it. One port for each front wheel and then one port for the rear to share.
The 96-97 rangers with dual piston brakes also run 3 port masters.

I used the stock master and just deleted the ABS pump and my explorer will lock up all 4 on the street, they almost work to good haha

Well, I guess I should get back on this eh?
So a lot has happened. And a lot of prep work has been made to facilitate the completion of this truck.
First we bought our first home so that was exciting.
Finally I have my own garage to do as I please with!! First was getting 240v outlets installed and various other 110v outlets around. The garage was bare framing when we moved in, I did a bunch of framing and insulation and drywall work and I now have what feels like my very own shop!! Super fuxking cool!
It doubles as my cutless shipping and inventory area so kind of a lot going on but it’s a pretty good size so we can make it work!
I had the explorer in the back yard while I was doing all the work in the garage so I finally got it back inside.
Cookcraft should be finishing my front Coilover mount really soon. As soon as I get that it’s full shred mode. Thanksgiving or bust!!

Oh ya I got a tig welder too!!

dude congrats that is huge. Owning a home is such a killer feeling and makes life a bit more stressful sometimes but also more rewarding.

Lots of random shit checked off the list! Did the valve cover gaskets. Looks like someone was in there before but made the mistake of not puttin rtv under the gasket where the heads and intake manifold comes together. Typical!
Mustang fox body master cylinder with slightly bigger bore and opposite side ports. Hopefully the more volume works good with the rear discs and the inside ports will give us more room for shock mount stuff!
Everything is loosely assembled axles and all so we can start cycling for the shocks and shock mount.
Next is to take it to Ryan’s shop to build that and install the swing steering since my garage doesn’t have 220
Anyways. Enjoy some random pics and shit View attachment 34636

I’m in a constant battle with the 35. I think they look too big on it. Gotta get it out side for a peek
Dang! Those wheels look rad! Good job!

Alright. Got some things and stuff. First of all, my wheels are back from the CHROMER and they came out ridiculous. Here’s a before and after.
I made a cool little hub cap to mimic a race hub and have it poke out of the wheel a little. I think it’s rad lol. 3D printed with Asa material. View attachment 34326
