1994 ford explorer!

^^ tis the only way to get these projects done. Takes dedication and sacrifice for sure. Its good to have a garage or backyard.. cuz I can't imagine having to drive to a shop or something to do work.

I’m forsure fortunate to finally have a garage of my own. For a few years my girl and I were renting a house where, after 2 months of moving in the garage was turned into a adu. I had no garage for 3 years. That sucked ass
If I had to drive somewhere to work I would have never been able to even start 🤣

Back to the progress. Got the front stripped of everything, much less rivets in the frame up here than the back. Removed the beam pivots, radius arm pivots and coil buckets. Sanded down the frame to get all the surface rust off where I could.
I really had to stop myself from taking off the body mounts so I could clean those up
Task for another day lol.
Got the frame painted, and steering knuckles got send to get sand blasted cuz they were baaaad

Also Ryan hooked me up with some chrome bumpers so I was finally able to get ride of the limited ones which I haaaated lol. I’m not a color match all the pieces type of guy.
Very happy with this!!

i fucking hate you.

you have invincible (thats the correct word to use here, right?) patience. i only dream of doing shit as clean as you, Marcellica.
it comes in handy with your two littles, doesn't it? ha

Patience is something I struggle with but I’m learning.
Honestly I’m really enjoying the process on this build. It’s nice to not be cutting tube and plate by hand day in and day out. Clean up and bolting parts on is a ton of fun lol

Got some good hours on the car this weekend. I have named it “nap time” because that’s when I can work on it lol during naps and late nights.

Got the radius arm pivot brackets bolted on to the frame. The crossmember for the brackets also doubles as a transmission mount so that’s pretty awesome.
Cookcraft beam pivot brackets are on also, lotsssss of beef on those suckers! Did a little dress rehearsal with the beams 😍

Cook craft provides 12pt hardware with his radius arm kits. The beam pivots didn’t come with hardware maybe the production models will I’m not sure so I went and bought my own hardware from a local place. They don’t carry 12pt so whatever haha.

This thing is looking great marcel! Im excited to see the shock hoop and coilovers installed. Mine had that same exact rust onder the coil bucket thankfully it was right where my bumpstops mounted so you cant see it. Are you gonna run your brake lines down the radius arms? I had a hard time with that part, not sure if the way I did it was the best option but it works LOL!

if you're going to buy that much brake line to go back to the rad. arm, then the opposite way back again down the rad arm.... i'd rather run the line down each beam to the knuckle. thats what i've done a few times and never had any problem. its just a little bit less line if you do it this way,

I was really hoping the bumps would cover that rust so that’s good to know!
Yeah forsure gonna run the brake lines down the radius arms. Haven’t decided how I’m gonna do it. My immediate thought is to cross over to the passenger side via the radius arm crossmember but we all know these transmissions suck. It would really suck to have to brake apart the brake line to remove the trans so I might run a long ass line on the engine crossmember. Idk we’ll see what happens when we get there

I have brake lines across trans cross member on 2ghetto... just had to deal with that and bend it all out of the way when fixing the first manual trans I blew!

I ran them across engine cross member on G4 so I can pull trans without having brake lines in the way.
We also ended up re-running BroDaddy that way too a long time ago, because he seems to blow trannies like every season. LOL

Def do it that way for maintenance purposes.

Yes i've ran brake lines on trans crossmember once and i changed it after the first time i had to pull the transmission. Moved it to crossmember under the engine.

Sounds like you guys made up my mind for me. That’s all I needed to hear!
