1994 Explorer Family Adventure Maker

Welllll, my plan when I started this thing in November was to finish it and take my younger daughter to an overnight camping trip down in the desert before my son was born. He foiled my plans and showed up 6 weeks early, so this thing will sit about 98% done until I have some free time and energy, because right now I don’t have either!

This thing is insanely well done! Also I’ve never seen this paint job on an explorer before and it looks so sick. Any plans for the interior?

Dang. If something happened to my Tacoma *knock on wood* I'd be down for an OBS Explorer or 3rd gen 4-runner (the Toyota tax is stupid though)

Stock wheels with no spacer and 33x10.50x15 BFG K02!
Great tire! That's what I have on my 92.

On one of my old explorers, I had a 31x10.50r15 on stock wheels and it would just graze the rear fender lip at full bump with the bump stops removed. The 33's rub a but when getting spicy but nothing to worry about... yet!

Good job on the car. Looking great!

Thank you! The high 2 tone was a $295 dealer option, I got 2 PRP daily drivers and want to do a cage by the end of the year. Something extremely minimal

What gearing did ya throw in there?
4.56 and Detroit lockers
It’s so good. I love the paint on it
thanks Marcel!! Congrats on the baby! Now our builds will be going equally slow lol
sooo, how much usable travel do these things end up with? 15ish?
I used a 12” Coilover and got 15.5” in the front and 14” in the rear
