1994 ford explorer!

Tackled one of the big jobs I needed to do before the actual build starts. When I bought the truck I knew it had a rusted out core support. I had a 4 day weekend so I figured it was as good a time as ever.
I spent about 3-4 hours a night on it while the wife and kid slept. Drilling out spot welds fuckin sucks but I got it done.

While I’m doing this I’m installing all new headlights and a new xlt style chrome grill and headlight trim cuz im not a fan of all the color matched stuff. Still waiting on the chrome headlight trim to come in the mail but otherwise everything else is all back together!

I’m still debating on if I want to trim this stock bumper or get a chrome one from a xlt

Gonna steal Turboyota job spec sheet

Hours: about 9
Profanity: yes
Tools: all of them
Cuts on hands: 7
Beverages: grape ghost energy and water
Destroyed body mounts: 2

Took the truck to riverside transmission for a new a4ld. We added a valve body with slightly higher pressure and a deep pan with temp sender provisions. She’s finally got overdrive! Haha.
Also I Got a bunch of stuff back from coating! I really wanted to nickel everything but it wasn’t in the cards right now so I found a nickel powdercoat and I’m super pumped on it!
Did most stuff this color and most frame side brackets and the beams will be black for contrast.

powder came out looking soo good!

I’m curious what ballpark range you spent on the new a4ld. Mine is on its way out in my 93 and I’m debating rebuilding it or doing a 5 speed swap.

It was 3k from riverside trans with a brand new torque converter.
I didn’t have to pull the trans or anything I drove the car there and drove it home when it was done
That includes the deep pan and the upgraded valve body and all new everything inside including solenoids.
25k mile/2 year warranty.

idk if im comparing it to old shit, wrong shit, or what........ but that seems like a hell of a deal!

It was rather expensive for a mostly stock trans. To put it into perspective I got my old c4 rollerized and completely built with the best of the best for a “race car” for 3500 from Dana sniff so not the best deal but the warranty is cool.
