OH HERRO CHYNA! ^^ I have regular socket ones. BUT>> the tips weren't long enough to clear a bolt that may or may not be too long that is holding pedal assembly on. Derp.
OK well.... it feels better with 3/4F and 7/R. But, I must say. They are still pretty bad when cold. Once you get going they liven up significantly. I can lock them now with just the foot brake. Seems like front is locking up first. If I augment with the hand brake it's pretty good.... I guess. Def not power brakes! LOL
Still kinda mushy feeling too. I think that is the front master? Holy shit they make some brake dust too. Have to clean the wheels after 10 mins around the block.
Also>> in super exciting "TrucksRDumb" news.... The Holley 7" EFI digital dash decided to quit last weekend. Won't power on at all. So, bought an open box AKA used one on Amazon for $715. Because these things are $890 now!! I know it's used because I could see the previous users dash config files on it. hahahah.
Speaking of which, I didn't back my dash config up to thumb drive last time. So, that meant I got to start all over from scratch customizing the gauges. Took me almost all day on Sun to configure it again. Needless to say, that shit is backed up now! I will try to take the old unit apart too.
Next issue! (Never ending on this build, I tell ya. )
I feel like this thing is way too fucking slow out of the hole. Remember, I'm a manual trans guy... so, I hate the way automatics leave off the line. First gear was reading like 52mph when I took it to redline at 6,500. (sorry neighbors. lol)
So, now I am crunching numbers on gear ratios. WTF!? is the 4l80e geared for top speed runs!? Even with 4:56.... if I could hit 6Krpm in 4th it says I would be doing 188mph!! 141mph in 3rd, 95mph in 2nd, and it says 57mph at 6k for first gear. So, maybe the slow refresh rate of Holley GPS is why I only saw 52? Either way.... that is waaaaay too long of a gear!!
So, how much gear are people putting behind a 4l80e on 37's?? I feel like 5.43 or 5.67 range may work. Isn't 5.67 supposed to be one of weaker 9" sets though?
Here is 4.56 versus 5.67
