1968 Ford F-250 Prerunner Build Thread

Turbo is back on and bolted up for good with new gasket. Oil feed line to turbo is installed and secured to firewall and engine cage. Secured it with stainless zip ties since engine oil gets warm and don't want the plastic ones to get hard and break. Installed the PSS cooler/reservoir and started hooking up the hoses. I mocked them up and marked clocking and had them crimped but I couldn't figure out how the one from pump to hydro boost goes. So will dig into that tomorrow and see if I can figure that out, or worse case I'll make one new hose. Ordered more hoses to hookup the ps feed hose and return lines from hydro boost and steering box.

Yeah used a gm hydro boost I saved from when I was parting out Escalades and Silverados. With turbo you have no vacuum when on the gas so consistent braking won't be a problem with the hydro boost. Recessed it into the firewall a bit to clear everything easily.

Can anyone find a pigtail for this high pressure switch on back of my AC compressor. Denso unit from a 04ish Silverado 6.0

It looks like it to me. Next time im in town over there I'll grab one.

Yeah that passenger beam is unique. Axle passes through radius arm and beam end instead of just the beam like normal.

Got the correct intake gaskets and a few hoses to continue hooking stuff up. Installed intake, the cold side of intake from turbo and air to water intercooler. Didn't have blow off valve positioned yet but have a good spot for it now so cut the hole to weld on the v band fitting to mount that. Started hooking up some vacuum lines. Also hooked up the power steering feed and return lines. Made the turbo drain hose to oil pan but really need another fitting for the 10AN drain fitting from turbo to hose. So ordered that and will install that once it arrives.

Painted the pass beam and got that back on the truck. Final assembled that and torqued driver side beam hardware . Installed new french grade 8 bolts and used revlock red thread locker and copper antisieze on all the shanks of the bolts as well as between mis spacers and heims/uniballs. Then started installing the radiator. Rubber under it to protect against rubbing on metal. Installed lower radiator silicone pieces and aluminum tube. Started installing upper hose and realized I needed to add a 45 to the upper aluminum piece. So ordered that and will weld that on when I weld on the bov v band flange onto intake tube. hmm... are you sure that thing has enough flow rate for your engine size?
rated at 233 cfm.... a 5.3 at 5000 RPM needs ~400 cfm ya?

surely i'm overthinking or overlooking something

More mocking up stuff up front. Using an air to water intercooler so I got the fitting to install in that for the 3/4" hose to connect to pump and intercooler. Then I notice the 11" fan it comes with they supply you those stupid zip ties to shove through core to hold on the fan. I never use those things so I whipped up a fan shroud for that and got fan mounted onto it. I didn't install on truck since I need to finish painting the tubes the grill and fenders mount onto. Also got some plans to make some hood hinges since the ones I made were not so nice and allowed the hood to touch edge of firewall when it opened.

Got intake tube with BOV all welded up and installed. Installed upper radiator hose. Then rad hold down and AC condenser, which I'm gonna be moving to behind the cab with a fan. Also got tube inner fenders and grill mount structures all painted. More plumbing on the vacuum/boost lines for the Mac valve boost controller as well as MAP sensor. Like always waiting on a few more parts to finalize a couple more items up front.
