Pecan is just what I had on hand so thought I'd give it a go. Apple wood is my usual for pork as well.

I just tried ribs for the first time...I was going to bring these to an EV meet, but they looked too good to give away....really though, I love smoked turkey, but the startup cost to smoking meats looks high

fuck bud... Looks pretty dusty. Try cooking them longer next time.

My little green mountain Davy Crocket started to have some problems with fan turning off and temp only getting to 175 and not maintaining that. So I picked up a new Z grills and been working awesome. Made some Tri Tip a few times now and it's been delicious. I know Elliott and Scotty got to try my meat and they both enjoyed it.

So if anyone coming out to Lucerne wants my old GMG Davy Crocket they can have it. Aweome grill I've taken camping since it is 12V cig lighter port and it comes with 110V adapter which is good if you want to test 12V cig lighter stuff in your garage and not in a car. Missing the grate the meat sits on. I'm guessing it needs a fan or something. Their customer support on the grill has been awesome. I replaced thermocouple and it worked good then the fan started turning off at a certain temp and it wouldn't get hotter. Would take a while to get to that temp too. So free to someone who wants to test it and replace possibly a small part and metal grill to get into the smoker game.

Got myself a pork shoulder on sale this week for 1.99 so got it on the smoker today. Almost ready for dinner.

Yeah was a good price for sure. Normally sale price is 2.99. Stater bros pork shoulder pinic roast is 2.49 right now. Not sure whatbdiff between picnic roast and not is but tastes good to me.

Wrapped and it hit 205 so now dinner time after work today

Thr solid meat chunk of this one only hit 197 so it didn't shred like the rest. So that'll make good sandwiches still. Boneappletea

Just scored a mini pit boss from my neighbor for $30. Going to have to give a test run this weekend.

Fired up the Weber Smokey Mtn... for a little beer can chicken for mother day.

Can't beat 2 whole chickens for $20 Bucks at Costco.. enjoy half of a beer.. Install garlic in the can... Wash the Chicken Season with your favorite rub. Install can in the butt of the chicken... Prop up on the can and 2 legs like a TriPod on the grill. 225-250 for 2-3 hrs. Pull at 175 thigh/165 breast



Let it rest for 10 mins or so and dig in.

Picnic Roast is the lower front leg and lower should. Pork shoulder is the upper shoulder area often called the Boston Butt. Boston is more tender but picnic has more flavor because those muscles do more work. Shanks always are tough but when cooked right have great flavor.
