Project G4 AKA Quasi-Ghetto

Dustinboost harley supercrew I did the backhalf on was working good.

Nice event glad I went for sure. Till next year

Yes he's very particular with how clean everything is and his prep is always solid. Danny Gianini did his swing steering up front and new carrier bearing mount which it needed but wasn't in the budget when I was working on it doing the backhalf before I ran off to Phoenix and Mikey at The Fab Lab finished it up for me.

G4 put in some work at Terra Crew. The trans temp issue "came back"... but I was being real hard on her and it took a bit to get it that hot. (I would stop/slow for a bit when it hit 250.) It still does some weird shit with the lurching everytime you start it. I will probably try to add two more expensive ass linear temp sensors and configure them to my Holley so I can know more about pre cooler and post cooler temps.

Also had a stange moment in second session where somehow the engine fans got turned off. I saw engine temps were over 250! Oopsie. Pulled off track and took a moment to figure it out. Numbers climbed as high as 270 when it was sitting there off... and puked out some coolant. Turned fans back on cruised for a second... whala.. back to 205. I must have hit the switch somehow?? I think I will change my oil now. LOL.

Oh and the Restomod Controls apparently arent rated for such shenanigans. Two knobs left the chat. The first, I dont know when... and I found it in the cab... the second happened in the big rollers, so I pulled over and handed it to my co driver, "here hold this for a while". haha

Stoked I finally got to see this truck In person, thing is so nice. Also hyped to watch you drive the piss out of it! G4 fucks

^^^ Nice meeting you. And thanks! I def aint driving like I am in a parade. I had that shit pinned everywhere I could be. I want more power already. Doh.

You were moving good too... I saw some vids fo you mashing them whoopty doos on Instagram!! You see that one? That's been half my last couple weeks... scouring internet looking for clips. I know I had some pretty agressive/wild moments, so was hoping photogs captured it.

When you were hitting the whoop section my son asked "why is the engine popping like that?" i said "because he's freakin wide open throttle" lol. You were hauling the mail for sure.

^^ Awesome. Making memories!! LOL

I even told my codriver.. we should be clicking third before whoops to help free up the suspension some.... but that's not as fun nor as cool looking when you can come into them at 5800 and then blast the rev limiter!! Wonder if my valvetrain agrees? LOL

Rev Limiter is the shift indicator. Unless you're spinning really high like 6800 rpm or higher you're good to go.

I have a soft rev limiter configured in my Holley. It is set to 5900 low, 6000 high.

Used to have it at 6500.. but Dunehoon said I was already past max power by a bit at that point. He had dropped it to 5800... I put it back to 6000 because i wanted a little over rev for certain situations. Like showing off in da hoopty doos!! hahahah

Yes I loved the Rev limiter on my Supercharged 3.4 v6. Had the power between 3500-5500 rpm. I feel it could've used 500 more rpm but Toyota ECU is locked up.

So, started the brake upgrade. These are the largest rotors, 13", that the superlite calipers fit.

The main reason I am even changing is because I felt like the brake caliper tab was not thick enough and allowed all sorts of flex. The new tabs are twice as thick (3/8 vs 3/16)... and the bonus is I get a larger rotor size, and they are less $$...

Flexy time? Def not sexy time.

Got these tabs from Camburg so I could be lazy and not have to go source 3/8 material.
