i always thought lower octane 87, would cause knocking and pinging and higher octane would reduce is as its not as volitle.Hell yeah Aaron!!!!!
Higher octane can result in less power...and could knock, ping, detonate, or diesel.
You need to match the octane to what your engine needs. A higher compression engine can cause 87 to detonate early and cause pinging. I feel like my holley "auto tune" is running really rich. wish I knew what I was doing. haha.
Guessing just little enough to trigger a tear down after 1 season, and then a 15k motor/trans upgrade in your future. Then brakes, then, well you know how this goes.yea... i was thinking 250-300. I'd be blown away if i hit 300...
