Hey everyone, I'm at the point where I need to get my oil and trans coolers. What are yall running and how do you have them mounted to your bed cage?
Currently I'm just running a stock 5.0 with 4r70w trans. I don't know if it will stay, or get rebuilt. But I want to get something that is adequate for 450hp. I don't want to have to budget new ones when I throw HP at it.

The one you linked is great. Good for 125,000 BTU/hr

This one is not baller, but cools the 4L80 in the tow rig great!
37,000 BTU/hr and not too expensive

I would not go with any stack plate style cooler. I personally have ran a fluidyne cooler i got on ebay years ago. It was all aluminum and had tanks and fins like the CBR performance ones. I personally any running a Titon Engineering Race Cooler since Igor makes amazing stuff and the cost was not any more than the CBR performance coolers. Plus they were in Camarillo so I was able to pickup to save any shipping costs. Run the largest cooler you can afford and fit on the vehicle. Can't have too big of a cooler and if it's running too cold just turn off the fans.

I ended up placing an order through Summit earlier today for 2 Derale Hi Flows. They seem like a new item that they have put out, so maybe untested? I did look at the CBR Large Off Road Cooler, but with a discount it was $300 a piece difference. $600 total is like 3 tanks of gas.. Very well could be a case of buy twice cry trice, but i haven't talked to anyone who's tried them out yet. Figured I'd be the guinea pig. Also ordered a Pyrotect fuel plate for when I build my fuel cell.

Yeah that style derale cooler should be fine for what you're using it for. Worse case, sell them and buy a bigger better one

Yeah a higher stall converter will create more heat than a more powerful motor

Oh I didn't even think about that. Right now its an all stock 4r70w, I'm not even sure which stall converter is in it honestly

If it's stock converter that will work fine. If you're spending the cash to upgrade to 450hp then what's a little more for new coolers if needed
