LA GORDITA BLANCA ( Linked Ranger on buggy tires)

UPDATES👇🏼
After trying to figure out this wiring mess I ended up talking to Juanco and he told me what engine harness to get and wallah! We have a runner! IMG_7159.jpegMade a mount for the intakeIMG_7150.jpegIMG_7156.jpegNext on the list was mounting the power steering resi and all the lines, I don’t love the the placement but everywhere else was to tight and I couldn’t get the cap above the top of the pump IMG_7490.jpegIMG_7527.jpegIMG_7525.jpegAlso picked up some fresh meats thanks to Wally, still some things on the list but planning on getting it out next weekend for it’s maiden voyage!IMG_7534.jpeg

I’ve always preferred narrow tires on rangers. IMO it’s a narrow chassis to begin with. Personally feel they “fit” the truck better.

I’m actually curious what the weight is of these tensor 37s paired with that ar23
Outlaw II / Tensor 37” combo on my truck weigh 66.5lbs

I’ll have to weigh mine but I have a feeling it’s very close to the outlaws

UPDATES👇🏼IMG_7560.jpegDrove on to the trailer to get the exhaust done 💅IMG_9894.jpegIMG_9896.jpegJuan @_sweepstudios_ absolutely killed it I already had the stainless x pipe that was tig welded with v bands and headers so I wanted to keep the whole exhaust that way he did the muffler mount/dump and v band. Next up was tuner after speaking with @marcytech he said I had to take it to Steve at powertrain dynamics in Huntington as he knows these sohc motors wellIMG_7568.jpegHad an eventful time at the dyno I had only run the truck for about 30 min prior to this just idling and bleeding the coolant/power steering, had to fix some minor things while there but ended up not being able to fully tune the truck due to not having the correct MAF for the year computer I had 😓 I was bummed but Steve put his normal sohc base tune in the computer and said if I got the correct MAF he would be comfortable enough for me to still take it out that weekend so that’s what I did! But not before thrashing the night before and fixing a leaky injector I found/ making a ghetto intake to hold the new MAF IMG_7569.jpegIMG_7570.jpegDAMN O RING, anyway made it to the dez the next morning!IMG_7577.jpegdrove the truck around for 15 min or so and just checked everything out (since I had the whole front end apart) man this thing rips the sohc is 5 times faster the the stupid 2.5 ever was. Decided to head for the tressle but not with out some first trip issuesIMG_0706.jpegmade it about 10 min away from camp and the truck started running like shit and I lost assisted breaking sooooo must be a vaccum leak right? Started looking around and found one of the ports plugged off on the intake had came off so limped it back to camp, once further investigation I noticed one of the other injectors leaking as well so pulled the intake and replaced it this resulted in finding a much larger vaccum leak there’s a 1” diameter hole that used to be for the egr that the previous guy had blocked off (just glued a plug in there) and it fell out somewhere along the way we were able to use a rubber cap off a whip mount and a zip tie put everything back together and ripped it! IMG_7581.jpegIMG_7609.jpegThanks Wesley 🫶IMG_0736.jpegSkylar, Me, and Wes. So after driving the truck for a little I could tell that the rev limiter seemed short and the truck would bog before it really wound up, still needed to go back to Steve for the dyno tune with the correct MAF, ended up getting me in that Monday and turns out the rev limiter was only set at 4k rpm the computer was originally for an auto so he has to go in and trick it that way it doesn’t think your trying to rev bomb the truck in neutral and slam it in to drive, he did this in the initial tune for the computer but had to go back in and change something else so now the limiter is 6200 🍒 also had to adjust the fuel pressure she was running fat. All said and done the truck made 185hp, 230ft lbs tq at the wheels, and did 95mph in 3rd gear at 6200 rpm. I drove the truck around town a little and it absolutely rips thank you Marcel for convincing me to put this motor in my truck, Thanksgiving trip can’t come soon enough 😇 stoked to be able to drive this thing again not bad for a kid in his garage! Learned a lot while doing this swap especially Ford wiring diagrams 😵‍💫
