Hoopdee 94.0 Bronco

Curious why you did the harness bar support tubes that way? Seems like if you flipped the bend directions you’d give the passengers a ton more room

Im 6'0" and my knees actually sit under the rear grab handle bar and behind the 2 on the B pillar. I was trying to kill 2 birds with one stone give the rear passenger (my 2 small kids) a grab handle and also support the harness bars because they're only 1" tube.

Update: Got the bronco back on its weight and mostly put together. Test drive went good didn't have any hiccups. Few more small things before a 300 mile overnight trip in a couple weeks. Also got a Cutless Design bronco dome light installed its a pretty slick unit. Added 2 more KC Cyclones to the back as well.

It was a prebent and prenotched kit. All those tubes where included. I don't think I would be able to accomplish that roof layout if i had to do it by hand.

Slacking on the updates update: Reroute the exhaust exit because the fumes were unbearable with it dumping under the truck. Mounted up a couple fire extinguishers, and packed up for @deangraen 300 mile off-road extravaganza. Very pleased with the load out of spares and gear I was able to fit in the rear cargo area alone!

Note those water jugs on the outside of the top rack lasted about 100 miles before puncturing and leaking water all over everything. Doh

Dean's 300 mile extravaganza trip update: Just some pics of the trip. This was the first time taking the bronco off-road since the cage work was done. Bronco did fine no issues at all very happy overall. Things I found out: Rear shocks need more valving, Rear leaf pack needs a rebuild, front shocks could use more compression valving, rear tires still rub the tub slightly need to work on building a new wider rear end. NEED MORE POWER and a regear ASAP.

Offroad Expo Update: Decided to drive the family in the bronco to the expo Saturday and had an eventful drive on the 55 Fwy. The piece of shit Mcqueen fiberglass hood is built very flimsy and would flutter pretty bad around 60 MPH on the highway come to find out. Well this fluttering caused the aluminum Aero Catch hood pins to snap first on the driver side. I immediately start jamming over to the right shoulder from the left lane slowing down as much as I could safely as soon as I pulled into the right most lane the passenger side pin snapped and caused the hood to fly up and block the windshield we were still going about 30 MPH when this happened. My wife instantly jumped out of her seat and hung out the window guiding me around a pole an into the dirt on the shoulder. Removed the hood and threw it in the back of my friends trucks and proceeded to the expo now hoodless. Still waiting on a response from McQueen to see of they'll be able to repair it for me. Side note I talked to a guy with a very nice black bronco in the terra crew building that had the same hood and hood pins. He experience the same exact problem while driving at 60 in the desert. This is what makes me think its a quality issue more then anything with the hood.

Joe had those same aluminum hoods pins snap just like that. Didn’t even know this shit happened last weekend

Back in the 90s I had Moroso aluminum pins on my 67 camaro holding a glass cowl induction hood.

Same thig happened but at about 100mph. Hood went up, Broke the windshield, Then one hinge mount let go and it flopped to the driver side taking out the side mirror then it ripped off altogether and went about 20ft in the air. My buddy was behind me in a 69 firebird and watched the whole thing.

Sounded like the engine blew. I looked out over the dash, Revved the engine to make sure it was still there and drove home.

Hood was tight, No flopping or fluttering. No signs the pins were about to break.

Damn that sucks. Had the hood pop up on my '71 F250 because I did shut it right - did the crack view thing but I was on a side road doing maybe 30. Thumbs up to you and the Mrs. for navigating thru this. Hate that your cowl took a hit.

As for the hood, mine's glass, Fiberwerx I think, and flutters for sure. Thought it was just my bro-runner issue. It's old school pinned on all corners with Autofab mounts tight with rubber spacers. Also have 3 dzus fasteners down each side to clamp it down to the fenders. I like(d) those new style pins, but I can see how aluminum would fatigue with the hood fluttering.
