i am really trying to find a middle range sound that has a nice crisp idle and sounds good under load but isnt so raspy and hollow sounding. Want some good tone but still be able to drive it on the highway etc.

I already have a huge hole cut in the bedside for the side exit so dont really want to do away with that right now. Hoping to find a good muffler that i can just put in place of the one on there currently.

Kind of thinking of trying a black widow or doing an aero turbine

I’m running 3” round Borla mufflers on my truck and love the way it sounds. It’s not loud until high rpms. I can’t stand on obnoxiously loud vehicles, unless its Grave Digger

Still reviewing some videos of sounds but i am set on either Borla xr1 or magnaflow. Packaging is a bit of an issue with the muffler location currently so i need a round style muffler. I dont think i have the space for a larger oval unit without redoing the entire system which i dont really want or need to do.
 
I had dual Borla XR1s on my 6L LQ4 (3" pipe from manifolds back, no cats, 3" H pipe under transfer case, exit out of side of the cab just before the bedsides), and they sounded great, but were really loud on the highway. I think you tow it out, so not as big of a deal.

I've since switched to dual Flowmaster Delta 50s. Similar tone as before, but more manageable on the highways, and still plenty loud in the dirt.

Those borlas sound great. Definetly concerned about the highway noise. I tow it to the desert but do alot of street driving.

After sound deadening all of the doors and three layers on the rear firewall, I can have a pretty normal conversation in the cab while driving. The side exit exhaust is the biggest culprit right now, but there just isn't a good way to route the exhaust to the rear. Maybe I'll revisit that this summer.

I just did alot of sound deadening too, i need to replace my mesh back window with a glass window i think that will help alot. Its extremely tight inbetween my shock towers and the cab so i may need to have a custom piece of glass cut and glue it in.

I have side exit too, im in the same boat. with a mid cell i dont have any other way to get the exhaust further back while running it under the cab. There is zero space between the upper links and cell cradle. I am particularly concerned about having exhaust anywhere close to the fuel cell for safety purposes so thats why i ran it ouside the frame under the rockers.
 
Got to hit the quarantine cruise on sunday, had a great time. Fuckin trans is leaking again though, got a nice little puddle on the floor this morning. So over this leak. Otherwise had a great time, truck ran perfectly.

I think i have decided on the borla xr1 muffler for my truck.

truck looked awesome. Was neat to see people check out the truck and be mind blown as its so different than what is typically at that show.

Thanks Adam! It was great to see you man and loved checking out your truck! Glad we could chat for a bit and yeah it’s super fun going to the cruise bringing something totally different from what’s normally there. I do want a classic though🤣 maybe I just need to build a classic 4 door prerunner

Thank you for sending! This is alot more what im looking for sound wise.

Really like the sound of the 6000 series. The 9000 Pro street sound amazing but might be a bit loud considering im trying to tone it down a bit lol
