Hey everyone need some help here, wanting to cage My single cab but I’m 6’3 and I don’t think I can fit the b pillar inside the cab anyone have any experience putting the b pillar outside the cab anything would help

We did it on my single cab and it was the best decision. Granted we cut the floor out and all that so the seat positioning/level also helped. I’m 5’10 and it’s nice and roomy. I’ve had people up to your height sit in it and it’s not the worst. It’s all on the wings world YouTube, and a full build thread on here if you want to check it out

Dude thanks!! Love your truck so much just saw it in person at the offroad expo Christian’s fab work is unreal, thanks for the input I’ll keep it in mind Acually got the idea for the external b pillar from your truck just wanted to see if anyone else has some input on it

We are doing an external B pillar on a single cab 95' tacoma right now, Same reason, customer is taller and needs all the room he can get! Cutting the rear firewall out and using the B pillar cage as a tie in to a new rear firewall will gain you more room behind the seats and possibly a bit of storage as well! every inch helps in a single cab 🤘

I built a single cab Toyota Pickup years ago with an external B-pillar. Building the B-pillar itself was much easier as I fully welded it outside in the garage, but that’s the only part that was easier. Everything else was much more difficult as a result of the external pillar. The truck was going to be raced, so it required corner gussets at the B-pillar, hence this odd design. The door bars came through the cab at a non-ideal location. Shoulder harness had to go through the cab. Most of all, like @RW81 truck, the seat mounts had to be below the floor to gain any headroom. Keep in mind that you’ll still have the A-pillar running next to your head, so mounting the seats below the floor will be key. The owner of this truck was also 6’3” and Toyota Pickups have more room than Rangers. FWIW, this was probably my favorite truck I’ve built, even though I never saw it actually drive.

I built it for a customer who was planning on 1450 (when it was mainly low budget guys) or class 2000. The truck left me as a roller and I haven’t seen it since.
