It does not necessarily lower the ground clearance. The ground clearance is just bad on those vehicles. The stock crossmember is the lowest part I believe.

Running around plaster city ran into some old race course that I either needed portals or 37’s because I was dragging everywhere on 33” tires. Most 35’s barely measure much taller than my 255/85/16’s and wouldn’t stop it from hitting.
