Such an awesome weekend. Looking forward to it again next year and definitely need to meet up with you guys in between now and then. I hope everyone enjoyed the easy sight seeing day Sunday. I know we liked the change from just beating on things in the cinders. So I’ll need to pick a new destination for next years Sunday cruise.
Head back to camp to start packing and loading up
Had an epic taco feast with the rest of the Taco meat left over. Finished loading up and hung out and enjoyed the banter back and forth about what a rad trip it had been.
Hit the rack, we had a long quest home.
530am got up still had to hook up the 4 runner still... of course motor battery was dead.. ( not sure whats up with that ) @capt.hodges to the rescue with his jumper box. Jumped it pulled RV forward and got the shit box hooked up and the drive shaft disconnected and tied up.
6am we had wheels turning pointed West.
Was a 12 hr drive home, had a hr 1 30 min delay on the 40 due to road construction
and then just a few exits from home a trailer rolled over...
took us bit to get through but all and all 10/10 would make the drive again. A little over 1000 miles round trip, zero issues with 4runner or RV. Such a rad zone out there in Flagstaff. So rad meeting a bunch of you guys for the first time in person. When we built this forum... this is exactly the type of trips we had in mind and wanted to help organize and participate in. Big thanks to @Snowsk8air2 and really everyone who came.
Until the next one....

always wanted to check that place outBadLines Sand Hollow Meat has a nice ring to it?
Camping would be a little warm but my best chance for extra days will be Labor Day again. I’m wheeling somewhere that weekend for sure. Be nice for it to be with the blgt crew again. The dunes aren’t amazing but it’s enough to entertain fast guys. The crawling is some of the funnest I’ve ever done. Maze, Double Sammi, and Milts Mile are good fun and technical.BadLines Sand Hollow Meat has a nice ring to it?
Less fun than for the 4wd guys for sure. Sand is soft so 2wd guys need good suspension to keep momentum and get through the dunes for sure.I was hoping to hit the 2nd Annual BLGT Cinders Labor Day Meet/Meat… if I can secure a trailer by then, almost 9 hrs for me. Sand Hollow is 7 hrs, still would need a trailer but closer. I’m making moves to sell my 16’ 4runner soon and I get $6-7k from towards a trailer so that’s cool.
Whats sand hollow like for 2wd go fast guys?
Hmmm, I have decent suspension setup and I like sand! Interested.Less fun than for the 4wd guys for sure. Sand is soft so 2wd guys need good suspension to keep momentum and get through the dunes for sure.
Was talking to a buddy about this over the weekend. He said to proceed with caution as far as doing any semi-large official thing without getting proper permits and what not. They do have a decent police force monitoring the area and he had heard of groups getting in some trouble before. The group we had last year at camp not too concerning, but the amount of rigs that showed up for the day run made our group pretty big.Id like to check sand hollow off the bucket list. Would be nice to have a local to connect with for good camp spots and local knowledge…
Cinders was rad last year but definitely would be cool to check out a new spot, been wanting to get up to Utah and this would be a great way for me to make a trip out of it some 4x4 stuff would be rad to do as wellWas talking to a buddy about this over the weekend. That said, the area is not really that big. I would say comparable to size of hungry valley ohv that I know a few of you guys are familiar with. I have no experience camping there. We have always gotten an air bnb or something close by
For sure.... My thoughts are we aren't doing anything official anyway. It's just a camping trip. No Itinerary, vendors, etc.Was talking to a buddy about this over the weekend.
