2024 BLGT Sand Hallow Trip Labor Day Weekend

Correct, non plated vehicles must have it. In UT, we also have plated, street legal OHV vehicles that must have it. If you have street legal registration with a full size plate, no need for the certificate.

They are pretty relaxed here. Make sure you have a whip and don't do anything too stupid. DNR is constantly patrolling the area closer to the lake. They do have SXS and jeeps they cruise the dunes and rocks in but I've only seen them out there during a large event or if there is an accident, but that doesn't mean they aren't out cruising. From what I've noticed, it seems the biggest thing for them is open container while driving. Try to minimize road sodas to stops or while deeper in the rocks.

Appreciate all the info as most of us have never spent time there before. Any local knowledge is useful!

Absolutely! I'm hoping I can get out for a day with everyone. I'm always up for being on the mountain.

Howdy guys. Little late to party here but lookin to come hangout this weekend. I live in the area and haven’t been out wheelin in a fat minute.
I’ve got a twin locked 3G 4runner. Haven’t gotten to play in sand hollow with it yet but heard you guys were coming out. Just lookin to get some rough start times and potential trail runs
Thanks!

Sounding like there’s more people planning to join than originally thinking.

My thoughts.

Toquerville falls seems like it would be full family friendly and any vehicle can make it. Never been and not sure how long that would take.

Milts mile is a 7/4 rated trail and you can bypass all of the big obstacles or stay in it and have some fun. Relatively short trail so depending on group size could be some quick fun.

Double Sammy, fun for the boys/gals that want to wheel. 7 rated and no bypasses from what I remember. Plus you end at the chute. I’d say this is for the 37’s and at least one locker guys or 35’s and not worried about damage.

Maze/The Fallen would be a bonus for the big trails. Some of the most technical trails I’ve ever done.

And happy to hear any locals suggestions

Would like to make ot to top of the world, but not sure if thats a trail or a destination

As usual going to be a long night of getting the rest of my stuff together.

4Runner its ready as its going to be. The boss helping get packed up.

Game plan for tomorrow. Wheels rolling 8am from the air bnb “right in hurricane”

Run Milts/Milts lite as the warm up. Hit the dunes and top of the world and then probably come back for lunch.

Saturday sounding like torquerville falls is the main idea for the bunch

Where are we meeting at 8am? I’m out here at my airbnb.

903 miles round trip for me.
Tons of epic views a few bad lines and nothing but good times.
We had 20 something people at the Air B & B. Total mixed bag of vehicles from long traveled first gen 4runner on 31s to super build Jeep on 42s. @chuck.converse met up with us friday afternoon and showed us the goods for the rest of the weekend.

Ran some rad trails, scoped Zion National Park, Hung out in the pool/ lake/ river. Good Times all around

I'll do a full report in the next day or 2 only took 400 photos

here's a few to wet the whistle

Sand Hollow Trip didn't suck.

Had the shop foreman help me load up the 4 runner

We loaded up Wednesday night hit the pike pretty early Thursday AM head towards Hurricane ( Hurri-cun). Was pretty stoked to hook up the Tundra up to the trailer for the first time. She pulled 4 runner just fine. Plenty of power when needed.

We even switch driver of record in vegas..after meeting up with @sdecurti. My wife got behind the wheel from Vegas to Hurricane. Never towed anything other than a pop up tent trailer long ago. We made it to the Air b&b unloaded

We watch @Snowsk8air2 climb up the next obstacle with relative ease... then @vcyota92 lines up and decides hes going to take the Alt line off to the right. that wasnt as steep but off camber. I'm was watching him for a few and then I looked back talking to the kids ...I hear @vcyota92 come over the radio " get a strap!"

I look up and see this

I quickly got out out of the trucks grabbed the strap and ran over up there. Kids and Wife are wiggin out a bit... @Motiracer38 backs his Jeep up we get the strap all hooked up and got them back on all 4s

Jeep was fine. We cleaned up the power steering fluid and made an executive decision to head towards the lake once we finished up the rest of the trail only a 1/4 mile or so left.
