To say I am not bummed about the whole Situation would be an understatement. I haven't talked to the long block builder in years and don't even see a reason to try and contact him as at this point. it is what it is. I have great friends and they have offered to help out in any way they can. That being said we are so deep into this motor we are going to keep moving forward with a reputable motor builder helping. Block, heads, and crank are at the.machine shop to get a clean bill of health. New custom comp cams are on order and right now we are just waiting.

Don't think I posted this yet but we got the new door and A piller on. Had to cut out all the damaged sheet metal and graft the new stuff back in. I used to do body work full time so this was kinda second nature. Took me back. Lol I ended up making a new panel as the old one was wasted. A portion of the top had to be welded back in as my buddy got a little sawzaw happy. Even blasted it with some rustoleum to finish it off. 
now I gotta re coat the inside with some lizard skin. Also have to pick up a new rear door and then pain everything. New new motor is almost done at the machine shop. See how this go around goes.

Life's been crazy lately. Some how talked Rober with moruzzi race motors Into Building our motor. Robert is a good fried of ours and wanted someone I trust building it. We picked it up a month or so ago and droppedit into the truck. No much has happened since we put it in. Just been too busy and funds haven't been available. I also got some new pumps that will only require one pump to run the truck. I was not a fan of 2 pumps to run the truck. I wanted reducing and the new pumps will allow that. Excited to get this back in the dirt. Hoping in the next few months she will be ready.
What's going on. I didn't realize it had been quite a while since I have updated this. New motor has been awesome. Robert did an amazing job. Truck is fast and we have it detuned quite a bit. We are only running 7 lbs of boost at the moment and will be upping it in the near future. I ended up stripping the rotors on the blower because the coating was starting to come off. We will be switching to a different blower in the future. The truck could use some more power in the straits but that is after a few months of driving it and getting comfortable in her.
Orginal plan was to run a 50-50 mix of e85 to pump 91. We ended up going to 100% E85. We were concerned only having 70 gallons of fuel but it has not been an issues. We do bring 100 gallons of fuel when we race but that's probly the only down fall. This may be an issues in the future for 300+ mile races but at the moment we are good. Right now we should be around 3 mpg in racing condition.

RATR 2024 was one for the books. We started day one in the first row spot 3. I personally like to start mid pack and was a little nervious and I knew I would have to push to keep my place which was opposite of what our plan was for day one. We wanted to run a good pace and keep the truck together. After only doing 11ish miles last year I was a little gun shy to say the least. We ran 3 seats this year and our buddy @ nickjames would be riding with luanna @mrsjuberafab and I. The flag dropped and we were off. @vince got the whole shot and we were behind 1400 coming into the moon bumps. Got by him in the moon bumps and were gone sitting in second place all the way into the second lap. Maybe half a mile from hot pits, I noticed we had no power. I called out to luanna and nick that we had no power and no boost and I was pretty sure we spit the supercharger belt. I noticed that the truck would still pick up a little speed and we would be able to limp it into the hot pit. @Mr juberafab was on point and called it in to our hot pit. Our pit support was ready when we pulled in. They pulled the hood and got to work. After trying about 5 belts they couldn't figure it out and we thought we didn't have the correct belt. I got out as I knew we had a least one belt that would fit. This was a comple screw up on my end. I didn't label the belt for the SC, nor did anyone know how the belt routing went except for myself and I neglected to pass that info along. (My bad won't do that again) I was able to get the belt on with the help of the crew and we were back in business. Got belted in and were off again. By now Vincent had lapped us and quite a few trucks behind us passed. We were down for roughly 10 to 12 min a whole lap. Crazy how fast the time flew by as it only felt like 3 min. We hammered down and finished the remainder of the laps for the day. I was a little bummed and I knew we pretty much didn't have a chance to place in the top 3 but we still had a blast and the truck was on rails. We took it easy the rest of the night and actually got some sleep Saturday night.
Next morning we were rested and ready for day two. I was in touch with kevin @DialedShockPrep and we decide to put a turn in the trim and mid zone compression tubes on the front to help with the big roller in the berms. The crew looked over the truck and Taylor @found a minor crack on the bedsides tab. I welded that up and we changed the air filter and got ready to stage. We were feeling good and I was a little nervious about throwing the belt again. We were second row spot 2 or 6th place which wasn't to bad considering we lost 12 ish min day 1. The flag dropped and we were off. We got out front in the moon bumps and let Betsy do what she does best (eat all the big stuff up). I decided to hang it into the corners a little more and see where we could make up time. Lap two coming into the rock quary we saw @thomasracing with a flat and saw dust ahead. We caught @mms in the fox proving grounds and I knew we had to make the pass. I hammered down and held on. This was the fastest we had ever been through this section and the truck just ate it up. I am not going to lie, for a second I felt I pushed a little too hard but that feeling quickly subsided as the suspension just ate did work. The rest of the lap Sloppy's red light was in and out of our rear view mirrors. The infield was a chore to navigate. It was super soft and our truck is a big heavy boat. lol After the start finish we didn't see the red light again. This lap we caught a few trucks that we started off the line with at the second road crossing I got a little antsy and almost passed in the weeds, but the wife and Nick reminded me that after the road crossing we would have plenty of room to pass and we were already a lap ahead of them. I backed off and just hung on their bumper until I could make a clean pass. I felt no reason to nerf as there wasn't a whole lot of room and didn't want to make a mistake or ruin someone's else's day. Once it opened up we hammered down and passed the two trucks. The braking bumps were gnarly and we were hanging it out there. Coming into the corners so hard on the brakes the belts hurt as they tightened up against our chest. We were having a blast nick hyping us up and the wife saying "go go go" after every corner. Having 3 people in the truck is a blast.
The final lap was uneventful and we caught a few trucks. We pulled up to the finish not knowing what place we were in just thrilled we had finished. We ended up finishing in 2nd place from starting 6th down 12 minutes form the previous day. We were feeling pretty good and thought just maybe, we could have pulled off a 3rd or 4th place. Just maybe. We ended up at 1:09:59 for day 1 and 0:57:12 for day 2. I was super pumped and felt accomplished that we pulled off 2nd for day 2. We came in 4th overall. I am super proud of our team! We have an awesome group. Thanks to the Wifey for keeping me calm during the race and holding down the day to day while I slaved in the shop to prep the truck. Sachinl with the last minute tweaks on the motor tuning in the pits the night before the race.
RYAN and Nick for helping out with truck prep and grabbing parts. Jason for running the new dented drive line to Sachin's shop 2 Days before we had to leave so it could be fixed. Erik breaking down tires and picking up parts. Racing is not a one man show and it takes an awesome group of people to make the dream work.

Last few trips we have had a few issues.with the truck. First trip out for KOH day trip we had a starting issue once. Pulled over on our way to giant rock to drain the bladder. Went to.start the truck. Cranked and no fire. Acted like there was no spark or the injectors.wernt firing. Played with the wiring and go it to fire up. We didn't have any issues after that.
Our next day trip out to Barstow. We were warming up the gears and when we started to get on it truck started to miss. played with the wiring again and got the truck to run good.
Truck has a holley harness that is over 7 to 8 years old and believe it starting to cause issues. I pulled the harness apart and check continuity on all the plugs that would cause an issue like I was having and could not cause an issues. I have wanted to build a tefzel harness for the truck for a while now. I spent a bunch of time mapping everything out and ordered up all the wiring and plugs from prowireusa. After talking to my tunner. He wants me to get rid of the MSD coils. He has had back luck with them and we are going to be switching over to LS3 coils. I'll be pick up a new set this week. I am excited to have a nice harness on the truck finally. Everything component will have it own color wire and be ran correctly to each sensor. Before the harness was run the best I could because it was a pre-made generic harness for the 5.4. We will also be running custom plug wires from Scott's. I plan to have the truck running this weekend again and the wiring wrapped up.

a real 1450 truck only uses 2 color wires... red and black.
