Okay got some work done,

Starting with the fuel tank, currently I'm using the LMC spacers to install the larger tank, I definitely have something better in mind for this.

For the lower chafe protection I used VHB tabe, this stuff always works good:

I sprayed the rear axle with some rubberized POR, I like how it came out.

I did a quick adjustment on the rear bumps by removing the top out spring and replacing it with a spacer to convert the bump from a 4" stroke to a about a 3" stroke.

The overload springs turned into limit straps, I knew this was gonna happen but needed everything assembled to figure out what length shackle to make.

Travel looks promising with the oem 1g shock, maybe I can switch to a 2g or bolt in raptor upgrade later.

For this truck, it's a manual transmission, so I NEED a parking brake, I installed a lugnut4x4 rear disc conversion for the D60 with the catty calipers. I hate the long passenger side cable that crosses over the axle... so I am using 2 driver side cables and a bar to pull both sides equally, you can pretty much see what im planning to do here:

there was a dude on go fast broncos making really cool straps for the 38 gallon fuel tank swap named matt lane, ill see if i can find a pic, i had them before then had mikey (only1mikey) make me a really cool fuel tank skid later

Soooo anyway I figured I should start working on this again.

So I finished modifying the beams, at first I was thinking about getting them cut and turned but decided its just not need for my expected travel.

Basically just desolate radius arms and coilover mount. Im building the truck side of the mount with some universal style ruffstuffspecialties mounts.

Got the front left shock in position and semi welded. Going to do the rest when I take the motor out. Working on bump stops now.

Also because I want to pull the front fenders and bumpers I wanted to build a light bar and test fit it. The lights are pretty budget but honestly the light bar is more for that cool look anyway. This is what I came up with for using the stock bumper.

Switched out the stock bolts with some 1/2" eye bolts and made some 1/4" plates for the ends. I got a tube laser cut to mout the lights on. :

Very exciting! Not much castor at bump. I usually do 12 to 18° at ride height. Anything less than 10° with the coil over doesn’t handle that well.

Exllent information. So I did actually build these shims that can go between the aft radius arms mount and the frame which will give more caster into the beams.

The problem with my idea is that its a one shot deal because I will have to drill the holes in the frame for the side of the radius arm mount lower. So I haven't done that yet. I am also concerned with the pinon angle.


My question is how do you normally add caster in at this stage? Just with the design of the mount?

Well, not really but I do have both front shock towers in and all the parts to reassemble the front TTB.

Also I do want to build this truck as the support truck to the 73, as in the tow vehicle and getting the two wheel drive 73 un-stuck. So I am working on modifying the old hitch for more clearance:

Thats about it but I swear im gonna keep working on even with the other truck. It just helps on the other one because my friend is helping me alot.
