Local Legend The sleeping Taco

What’s up Mike. I was checking this thing out on Sunday. I kept circling back to look at it again until I went up and met Elliot at the booth and he told me where to find the specs, who by the way was insanely rad & friendly, especially to someone new to this stuff like myself. Such a cool truck though man. I have always loved those 4runner 15’s. I saw the banjo fittings on the brakes so I figured they were the smaller calipers. Does it brake okay with those with the added weight of the v8 and other stuff? Have you ever tried to fit tundra brakes under those wheels?

Tundra brakes only fit some factory 16’s and you have to clearance some early 16’s to make them fit or add a spacer, most likely the case with 15’s.

I was thinking of the smaller of the 2 tundra calipers which I believe fit all 16’s no problem. 13we’s I think. I wonder how much clearancing would need to be done on the inside of the wheel and/or the caliper to fit them under a 15 with no spacer or if it’s even possible.

Gotcha, spent a lot of time on 1st Gen Tacoma build threads and the early 4cyl 4x4 and Prerunner models came with 15” split spoke wheels that have the same spoke design as other factory 16’s but never saw anyone on WE’s and they would all go to the starfish or other 16’s that fit WL’s instead of keeping the 15’s, that is not to say it wasn’t / isn’t guaranteed to be impossible.
