Sleeper 93” Bronco Prelander

The build so far. 1993 Ford Bronco
Solo Motorsports stage 4 long travel on 2.5 kings coilovers with cut n turned beams. Ambulance steer with drop angle pitman arm. Shackle conversion in rear with deaver springs and 2.5 king bypass. 35” Yokohama mud terrains on Original 15” polished aluminum wheels. More work to come.

Any ideas to get rid of some of the steering slop and any recommendations on a sway bar set up?

Dual swing steering. Solo, threat, Cho and desolate all make kits. Could take it one step further and add a ported steering box and ram assist. As far as sway bars Desolate makes a kit for the rear leaf set ups.

I didn’t hear that! Do you know why? It’s hard to say it’s for sure sloppier than it was stock. And I hot the radius arms at full lock but I dont think that as anything to do with it.

Im running a similar setup suspension wise but I do have a redhead box and borgeson steering shaft. I added the box because the old one was trashed but I still had a lot of slop in the steering so thats why I added the borgeson steering shaft and it made a world of difference for me.

Its a 95 bronco that had cut and turns with coil springs, but I am in the process of extending those beams and fitting in 3.0 coil overs.

i have no idea. I just know my buddy has a bronco and wanted to upgrade steering, and he told me he couldnt because of this note on desolate site. I was hoping you had more info on why this would matter, because i cant think of a good reason unless it made teh steering too long.

I called desolate and they said it’s because it puts too much strain on the tierod ends due to the more aggressive angle.

Do bronco steering box's have an adjuster on the top cap like jeeps/chevy's ect might be worth tightening it up like this. ITS FREE!!!

did this on my ranger back in the day. did help some.

I called desolate and they said it’s because it puts too much strain on the tierod ends due to the more aggressive angle.

that is interesting, wondering if the strain is at bump or droop. pushing the tie rods down so they are more straight on a lifted truck seems like it would put less strain on them since they arent at a sharp angle? what am i missing?

That’s what I was thinking too. I’m gonna bring up next time I’m in solo and see what they think.
