Mine's a bit tighter, 1.75 to the block and using every bit of it for up travel. I was real surprised that even with the rear sump it has less capacity than stock, under 5 qts. You're also going to have to make a trans filler late and the flexplate bolts will be tough to get tight but possible.

:O Well good to know in the future if I need more space I can get away with a much tighter pan. Since I'm swapping it in my Taco I can also move the engine up a bit which should help clear everything. I'm manual as well so I should be good with trans filling and thankfully I don't have a flex plate I need to access.

The Expo was a blast, both my boys loved running around and checking out all the trucks. They led a pack that I'm sure annoyed quite a few but ended up with a pile of stickers that will last a lifetime. Their highlight was being tasked with towing out the SLR trophy truck

Only picture I got was from loading up so just imagine it parked on grass surrounded by much more interesting vehicles.

Thanksgiving at Cougar Buttes in Lucerne Valley was a blast. Did some crawling, some faster desert trails, and generally just poked around getting used to driving this thing.

It climbs rocks way better than I imagined and scraped the fuel tank skid about as much as I thought it would. We did the Bullfrog trail which had some intimidating obstacles that we strolled right through. All five of us had a blast getting used to it.

The desert run was a little annoying as the rear still does not have enough damping and slams down on hard hits. It's probably better than I hoped for but it really limits your pace. We were cruising 7 deep the whole run so can't complain too much.

The brakes are still horrible, even before loosing a front caliper bolt. For some reason the headlights started surging and I lost turn signals but I'm pleased at how well the shakedown went.
