Rusty Red

Put a mild kit in my A750F (150k miles), should've done the torque converter as well. It slips sometimes after it gets warmed up and I'm smacking 2nd.

Electric fan talk. With the V8 going into the Tacoma, I will not have room for an engine driven fan. I have to do electric.

After lots of reading and research, I’ve landed on a the factory fan out of a V8 Camaro. It’s made by Spal and is 800 watts. A similar “universal”
Spal fan is like $600+. The Camaro units can be had for around $150-$200…..they get wrecked a lot! The fan can do 4000+ CFM turned all the way up. Should be plenty to cool a mild V8.

This cool little controller has the ability to use the factory sensor to turn the fan on and up depending on temperature.

If there is something cooler out there you guys know about,. Let me l know.

Installed the shift kit in the Tundra trans, not as bad as I thought. The kit is universal to like 8 different versions of the A340, so it’s weird having parts left over. It was also strange pulling check balls out of the valve body, but I was super deliberate and double checked like 5 times.

Picked up a Camaro brushless fan in lovely Compton CA last night on the way home from Disneyland. The wife was super pumped with me when I told her we were stopping. Luckily the seller was waiting for us, fan looked great and the whole transaction took probably 2 min.

Looks like it is going to fit perfect. Some aluminum flat stock to bridge the factory shroud mounts to the new fan will be pretty easy to fab up. IMG_5457.jpegIMG_5458.jpeg
