Local Legend Project: Tur-BRO-yota

What was/is the cost of your material on this project (VS doing something like those seal-saver booties)?
It would be much cheaper to buy sealsavers if you had to buy materials. I got the material free from work because somebody bought it, threw it away, and I dug it outta the trash.

Same as most of the fancy fucking aerospace bolts and AN fittings on all the stuff I build. As soon as the certs get lost or disassociated from the hardware, it can no longer be used on an aircraft. Voila! Free $150 bolt!

Made a couple more aluminum panels that I’ve put off for 3 years. Also added some beading to some older panels that are already fucked out by rock hits. Threw on a couple lower rear bedside supports with the little Autofab urethane washer chingaderas. Lazy miggered those little bitches.

Materials: 3003 0.050” aluminum
Time: 2 hours
Tools: bead roller, finger brake, clit-diddler sheetmetal shear, drill press, bandsaw, straight edge, sharpie
Drinks: 4 LaCroix Lemoncellos
Music: Johnny Cash

My Dad used to bring home tons of fancy aero crap that literally said "not for flight" on it.

Panels look good! I actually really enjoy panel work. Tabbing them out sucks butt, though.

Also, the lemonchello LaCroixs are strangely good. Tangerine and pimplemouse are my go-to, though.

Looks great Ryan. What’s up with the baja bug?
It’s the BROmanians. LS3, sequential trans, gearOne hubs and brakes, 37” Motorally buggy tires that I didn’t like on my spooled truck, switchBROs, Holley dash and computer thingy, centermount thangs(same as the one we built in my shop like 6 years ago), Kings bro, and a 1969 registration. Nice.

Buggies are kinda queer.
