Photos from your last ride.

Thanks dude! Such a huge improvement from what I had. I was hoping to find a deal on a Santa Cruz Bronson "mullet" but didn't find any good deals on the interwebs.
always can keep an eye out and pick one up and probably see that one for what you bought it for. we gotta get on a ride one of these days would be fun to get up to skypark soon..

Exactly my thoughts. I think this one will keep me satisfied for a while though. Just gotta get it dialed in for my needs. I just replaced the chain, cassette and grips last night. This morning's ride was way better in the drivetrain category. Still need new bars and some clip-in pedals. Might have to swap the brakes to Shimano instead of the SRAM brakes. Still trying to get used to the longer pull of the brakes on this thing. Going to bleed them and see if that makes them more snappy, but sounds like its just SRAM being SRAM.

Yes definitely need to ride together one of these days. Sky Park is right up the hill from me so just let me know when you want to go and I'll make it happen.

Did a Black Mountain loop in the Pisgah over the weekend. Was greeted with some snow at the top and a ton of freeze thaw conditions on the way down. This trail recently underwent a reroute due to erosion running off into trout waters.

It was the subject of controversy since the old trail was so gnarly and the reroute was more tame but it's been really cool to see the new trail come to life over the past year or two with how much rain we've been getting. The roots and rocks are starting to show again and I really enjoyed this last run.

Saturday went out for a quick solo pedal
A few sections of the trail were still a little soggy from the Rain we had Wednesday. Was one of those I knew better but wanted to send it anyways

Can't wait for the next one.

I'll play!

Actually, this actually was my last "ride" besides riding dirt jumps on my 20 which is the only bike I've kept and the one that puts the biggest smile on my face. Actually... damn... I miss my road bike now.

my last day riding was a bit of a marathon...

Drove down to St George and started off the evening at the jump park

Then swapped the 20 for the road bike and went on a road ride

Then stopped by the apartment real quick to drop off the 20 and the road bike, loaded up the mountain bike, and went straight up the hill, camped, and rode up into the mountains above Cedar Breaks

Somehow ended up back down the hill in some canyons by the river (decents are fun and I got a little carried away lol)

So then I hitchhiked back up the hill, rode back to my truck, camped one more night, and met some friends over at Brian Head the next morning. And that's when I went over the bars... HARD

While I recovered (tore some rotator cuff things and did some pt for a bit) I sold my bike to upgrade to a Santa Cruz something whatever tall boy or high tower or something I can't remember, then I had a falling out with the shop I was working at so I quit on the spot, forfeited my bike purchase and took a refund, and never looked back. Didn't even build my bike. It was still in the box when I left. And, sadly, I haven't ridden since, besides my 20.

There's all kinds of great trails where I live in Monrana now and I've thought about getting a 29" hard tail (because 29" hard tails are RIPPERS and super fun to ride if you don't mind getting bounced around), but honesty I've just avoided it because it's a super expensive hobby and I've got enough hobbies as it is. I do miss it though! A lot actually. So thanks for allowing me to go down memory lane 😊 I guess I went out in style at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

About a year ago I noticed my 2009 stumpjumpers' frame had snapped again (I welded it the first time it snapped, stupid proprietary alloys), so in April I built up a brand new Status 160 with an oversized 170mm travel Marzocchi Z1 Coil Fork. I decided I wanted to hit up an actual downhill park since I've never been, so my buddy and I planned a trip out to Sunrise park in Greer, AZ. The downhill park was pretty damn good except my buddy not wanting to do any techy trails bc his brakes suck, ironically he was all for hitting the fast greens and blues. This new status is hands down the nicest bike I've ever owned and only being into it for under 2k (cannibalized the modern parts from the stumpy) makes it even better, wayyyyy faster downhill than any of my old bikes, suspension is super plush, the mullet setup and geometry makes it super playful and flickable, it also pedals better than the old stumpy, but as far as the bike park, despite being a 4 hour drive away from me, a high of 70 degrees in the dead of the AZ summer, no lift lines, and some solid trail selections added up to a good time.
