Margarita’ the explorer

3.0 3 tube kings for the rear and some walkers 😍 I unfortunately hate this color way so if anyone has some of the same size 15x8 and 5x4.5 walkers in a different color way and wants to trade lmk!

@_Cole_Taylor_ Are you getting any tire rub in the rear with the 35"s. My kid bought a 92 Explorer project with the same rear set up.
Its has Deaver G50E and a CookCraft rear shock bracket with 3.0x12 Fox triple bypasses and Solo shackles. Running AR23 rims and 35x10.5 Tensor tires.
The previous owner mentioned about going to 33" tires because of the rear tire rub.
Its rubbing the inner fender well in two spots. The very top of the fender well and the inner fender well that sits above the frame.

Narrow 33’s are the perfect size for stock width explorers 👌🏼

Offset plays a big factor in it as well. My two of my buddies are running the stock 8 hole looking wheel, with 35 10.5 15. They don’t rub and they definitely don’t take it easy on their stuff.

That's why I'm curious with Coles Explorer. Both have the exact rear set up, Except for the tire manufacture.
In 15x8 the AR23 wheels only come with one offset. Unless the Tensor is just slightly wider even thought its labelled as a 10.5 width.
I was wondering if these softer Tensor tires have some more flex to them and that's why its rubbing the inside of the fender well.
Unfortunately its still going to be a few more months to get the body swap done on them and for him to go out and try it.

Mine actually has 33x10.5 r15 ! And they still rub the top of the fender well at full bump. So by putting 35s on I would actually lose 2” of up travel which I’m not doing 🤣 also my wheels are 15x7 not 15x8

Well that explains it. Not sure why I thought those looked like 35’s. I also had to do a double check on my kids AR23 wheels. They look like 15x7 actually. But it’s that extra 2 inches in tire that is the culprit. Appreciate it.

1” of uptravel if I’m mathing right but point still stands. Smaller tire and more travel can me more useful sometimes.
