Going for few of us tubby folks. Trying to drop the freshmen 15lb in 2026

Been hitting the Gym with a buddy last 12 weeks pretty hard 5-6 days a week.

Protein powder... Started drinking this stuff in my coffee every morning. Almost out of it anyone else have a powder that they like, that's also low carb...

LFG!!!
I like the transparent labs stuff, doesnt have the sucralose or anything else in it that most protein powders have.

I use Raw Organic Grass Fed Whey in my shakes. It’s only whey, nothing else. I always blend it in a smoothie and love it. Straight in water is no good. I have my shake dialed to the following every morning (everything is weighed every morning):

8 oz. water
13g Juce vitamin powder (similar to AG1)
10g organic cacao nibs
50g raw whey above
10g fitness labs German creatine
32g organic peanut butter (no sugar)
70g frozen organic strawberries
70g frozen organic blueberries
~100g organic banana (about one medium)

Macros: 625 cal, 22g fat, 60g carbs, 16g fiber, 29g sugar, 51g protein

My really good friend owns a protein store, and he is planning to be the next Arnold, so to say. Working out, and nutrition is his life. Its the one God, under God himself, to him. He's fucking jacked and shredded as can be. So I take all my exercise and nutrition advice from him. I tried and did use the Costco brand Whey Isolate protein, like you got in that picture, ElliotSmelliot, just because it's a good deal for the amount.
But after talking to my buddy about it..... he said that there's a lot of shit in those powders. He didn't really specify because he knows I don't know too much specifics about that stuff. But I trust him & he said this powder that he sells is one of the best & healthiest "general/generic/basic" proteins that you can buy. I don't think you can get it anywhere except specifically dedicated protein places and stores. And also, it's fairly expensive, which does kind of suck. But... ya know. Hah

As far as food..... I literally eat the exact same breakfast and dinner every day.
Eggs, beef, bacon bits & 2 tortillas for breakfast.
Beef and sweet potatoes for dinner.
I also try my best to fast for at least twelve two fifteen hours everynight.

Key word, TRY.

Where I have problems is the little snacks in between....... like the cookies, the muffin snacks from Dutch Bros, the Dutch bro's coffee itself, and all the little stuff in between. I feel like if I could cut that shit out altogether completely, with all the workouts & yoga I do, I would get ridiculously shredded......

While your buddy is jacked, saying Bumstead’s protein is the cleanest is bullshit. Natural and artificial flavors, several gums, ace K, sucralose - all bullshit ingredients added because they’re cheap and make it taste better. The cleanest would be raw whey, no flavors, no other ingredients, no bullshit.

I like Bumstead and enjoy hearing him speak about his journey and life afterwards, but don’t confuse him sounding like a good guy with promoting only healthy shit. His name is on this protein to make him and the company more money, end of story.

Also it’s hard for me to take health advice seriously from someone with a cigarette in their mouth.

i totally agree and call bullshit on some of the stuff i said. i'm sorry, i opened my mouth when i didn't have facts. you're probably right about the powder not being the cleanest. yes, you are correct about raw whey and all else.
i opened my mouth and was blabbing when i thought i knew what he said or remembered.

and yes, i know he's trying to make more money, blah blah blah, but he is a good friend that i know I can trust.
or wait, ? you were referring to someone else with that i think?

the cig in mouth....... trust me, i know. he's a Scottsdale douche to the max. only takes pics with the cigs to look cool or some shit. hah.

My money comment was about Chris Bumstead, Mr. Olympian / the dude who’s name is on the protein, not your buddy.

We’re all friends here!

Anyone else been getting after it ?

E

I have been trying to get some walks in during lung break and then with the wife on days off. The loop at work and the one at home are both 1.5 miles. I am doing the Thursday night rides and might start Tuesday after work rides too. I still need to start back up with weights.

not sure if it makes much of a difference, but I've been going out dancing a lot recently.
and its now on repeat in my calendar a few days a week. so that's another "movement" thing i can add to my list.

weightlifting
yoga
dancing
pretty much every day of the week. 1 or 2 or even 3 of those some days.

Pics/vid or it didn't happen.

I started recording my outdoor activities in the Peloton app so I can track all my effort. I also started running a few miles a couple days a week, the ankles and calves are just starting to get used to it. The elevation metric for outdoor cycling (mtb) is off but the distance seems about right.

I record everything on outdoors on Strava. My daughter gave me a Veryfit watch for Christmas which I use to track steps and record heart rate for activities. It isn't as seamless as some of the other wearables would be but it is something.

I haven't gotten to running but I have been doing fast paced walks almost everyday at work. I can just squeeze out 1.5 miles in 30 min. I also try to walk with the wife when she does on my days off. I have been hitting every Thursday night ride with the @badlinesgoodtimes group rides and will probably try to ride with people out of work on Tuesdays as well.
