Garage Tools

What's the deal with this? Retro fit cnc lathe from a manual?
ya, i got this after the fire destroyed all my shit, up in Washington there was an older guy had his son selling off all his shop tools. somehow the 2 drive gears for the threading gear box where exploded. i though it was great as i wanted to CNC convert her right from the start!

Looks awesome. Another piece of tubing with another jack for pinion would be awesome. Use some smaller box tubing with the jack attached to larger tubing that it can slide in an out for different axles

Anyone have a pressure brake bleeder they like? Been looking at the agm unit. Seems like I have been doing way too many brake jobs / bleeding recently and a pressure bleeding set up is tempting me.

Also have the AGM bleeder and it’s so quick and easy to bleed brakes now, definitely recommend it.

AGM here too. Had to do a quick master cylinder and rotors on my kids 4runner and didn't want to have any issues.

Worked great, First try brakes worked perfect.

Posted this on Tacoma world, Thought I'd share it on here too.

Just FYI for anybody who picked up a Yukon tool box from HF

Noticed the 5 drawer folding side table doesn't hook on the edge of the box like the one designed for the larger tool chests so I figured I could just drill new holes.

Used a couple left over bolts from my Toyota bolt bin. Lucked out the thread pitch was a match with the existing handle rivnuts

The uniball tool is legit, bought just the 1" size for my needs.

These are great too! I bought the 1.5” and 1” one for a job I was doing, the job pretty much paid for them cus they are pricey, then I found a guy selling some upper control arms and was throwing in the 1.25” one, so I bought it and resold the arms and still made a profit and kept the tool. Completely worth it.

What harbor freight brand tools do you trust / use a lot?

I just bought the ball joint press and have used the front hub large size sockets a lot working on my 4runner projects.

What other stuff is worth looking into? The $11 gear oil pump worked great this weekend and that got me thinking about what else I should buy. I also have had their impact sockets and combination wrenches for years in my desert tool bags

I have been using HF wrenches for over 15 years now and have never broken or bent one. Just use tools properly and they tend to work fine. Aside from that, I use the heck out of their electric belt file sander, electric sheet metal nibblers, punch set, $1.99 gloves with the yellow palm (I buy them 10 at a time). I just used their spray gun this weekend with great results. They are my go-to for most of my "getting my toes wet" tooling for new skills. Their sheet metal brake works fine for what it is, the 20 ton press works fine... Basically, use the tools appropriately and they're pretty solid.

I also use a lot of harbor freight tools. 20 ton press with swab brake. Tool cart with side cabinet is my main tool box i use daily. I have the cheap Bauer cordless tools I use in my junkyard but they're definitely not as powerful or battery life like my m18, which is expected.
Also use Pittsburgh sockets and wrenches and work good. I also use their fuel pressure tester, steering wheel puller, ball joints press and a few other specialty items i only use 1 or 2x a year and can't justify spending good money when they work fine.
