Upcoming Clean up! Clean-Dezert 11th Annual Barstow Clean-Up NOV 2nd 2024

I've been going back and forth between towing the pop up camper or just using the rooftop tent. Seeing that definitely makes it an easy choice to bring the camper!
I’ll be there I’m my poor people tent. Haha hopefully the wind ain’t too bad.

Yeah but I want to be able to load dirt bikes and stuff in it more than I want a shell. I still use it like a truck and it’s my only vehicle now.

Sorry I missed about everyone yesterday, we didn’t get to stay long, my wife has to work today. Kinda bummed we didn’t get to stay for the after hours shenanigans. Still got some junk cleaned up though and I found a couple ladies to give a ride to.

Dude I totally missed you out there 🥺. Good times minus the W. We made the best of it. I’m still shocked that 11 dumpsters of trash was picked up after driving through a few weekends prior. It appeared the desert was pretty clean. Good job everyone 🤘

Great job @Cleandezert and team for how well the event is run and great job @badlinesgoodtimes for the food. Too bad the "W" wasn't cooperating with the schedule.
For the next one... Who is better at dealing with the cars when they get placed near a road (BLM or Popo). And where is the border between BLM and County over in Apple Valley so we know where the cars need to show up at the end of the dirt road.

what about if all cars just magically ended up at a major road one random weekend?

That is kind of what I was getting at. Just wanted to make sure the road was in the right zone to get taken care of and not just causing a closer to town issue. They pull like a sled surprisingly easy. ;) I bet we could get the 4 others (that I know of) to a road fairly quickly if we weren't spending time trying to get them on a trailer.

A totally amazing event! The BLGT lunch was great, you guys kick ass! The PM4x4 Club crew had a great time retrieving the Camaro, truck cab and frame. It was too rough of a trail to get Jared's trailer up there so like Ken said, his Ram towed the Camaro down the trail to the trailer and my Explorer towed the truck cab. That winch on Jared's trailer saved the day. There are more vehicles to pull out of that area, maybe do another run out there sometime before next year's Clean Dezert event? We had a ton of fun retrieving the vehicles. The way it usually works with abandoned vehicles is you haul them out close to a road and then contact the CHP who handles the recovery of all stolen vehicles in the State. They usually have them hauled off. especially if they're hot.

I saw your explorer parked at the event and passed you coming down the 14 getting in the 5. Such a cool rig!

I called CHP yesterday and they told me they didnt want anything to do with the cars. That is news to me as years prior they took them no problem. This year they told me to either call BLM or City of Barstow PD. Maybe it was the dispatcher I got, but she was having none of it.

With that said. I 100% think we go out there on a weekend and pull cars and just call people til someone agrees to handle it. Would be so much fun as i never get to be involved in the dragging of cars.
