Past Clean up Clean-Dezert 11th Annual Barstow Clean-Up NOV 2nd 2024

the fun of putting on an event with BLM. i have sent them 4 emails and 3 voicemails in the last 2 weeks and nobody responds. lol
 
Sounds like a typical government organization. They require you to do 1000 steps to be legal BUT they don't make any of those steps easy. Then they wonder why people don't want to organize events with the blm
 
it looks like i wont make it for this event. my tenant gave notice a few weeks ago. i wont get access till nov. 1st. then my broker already secured a new tenant to move in the 16th. gives me 2 weekends for inspection and work.
 
The terrain is access roads which are dirt roads but easily driven on with a stock 2wd truck. Now if you want to have some fun and go on the race course it's barstow so deep holes and rough.
 
Spent all day yesterday prepping for this butttt doesn’t look like I’m going to make it. Got a call today, looks like I have a meeting I need to go to that Saturday 😢
 
I'm in the area so I'll be making it out! I think I can fit it in my schedule. Better get my camping gear together 😂

What are coordinates or details for the event / base camp?

I know the guys at Evoke in Victorville and Toys For Trucks in Hesperia very well and I know for a fact they'd 100% be down to help get the word out and support however they can. Maybe even Phil's Automotive up in Big Bear Lake. I strongly recommend you give each of them a call. John, Isaiah, or Jacob at Evoke... James at Toys... and Tony at Phil's. Tell them Andrew said it was worth giving them a call even if it's just to pass out flyers or pass word of mouth 🤙

I have very little space to actually pick up trash since I'm currently living out of my truck, but I do have approximately 4' x 4' available on my roof rack so if anyone has some tie downs I can borrow at the event I'm totally down to strap down whatever I can get up there!

I plan on camping Friday and Saturday night. Let me know if there's any supplies needed like firewood, etc. that I can pick up!

last minute stresses of the event. just talked to BLM, we are good... i mean really we were doing this with or without them anyways.
Shirts shipped and get here tomorrow... which is a few dates late, i originally requested to have them here last week.... only because a few years ago the entire shipment was lost... lets hope they show up because i owe 400 people event shirts. lol
 
well the cool weather will be nice, lets hope the rain isnt bad and the winds stay at bay so we can watch ghostbusters. lol either way see you there. Going to be a good one. I am all loaded up and just need to pack my trailer for the trip.
