93 TTB RANGER

The start of my 93 ranger. As it sits 4.0 and manual transmission. Trying to build something cool on somewhat of a budget. The goal is either 302 or 5.3 and dana44 ttbs/ford 9in on 39s. Going to be full 1 3/4 chassis and cage, (not a race truck) just an Ocotillo/Glamis play truck. Currently collecting parts for the build and selling original ranger parts so lmk have 4.0 motor, manual trans, transfer case 120k miles, f31 deavers d35 ttbs, ranger and explorer 8.8 axles tank/sending unit almost new ko2s on 15s.

302's is pretty gutless, unless you run a stroker kit than it gets a little better.

Ya I’m leaning towards an “LS” anyways, only considered 302 cuz my buddy says he has a healthy one back in AZ.
 
I have 302s in both my Rangers. One is a stock H.O Mustang engine and is admittedly a bit sluggish. The race truck is carb'd with a bunch of good parts, it will run away from mild 5.3 swapped trucks. Made 315hp and a bunch of torque to the tires when I first put it in.

Yea, tuner guy told me the Ford's make really good torque.

For reference my junkyard LQ4 6.0 with mild cam made 292/294 to the tire. (Through a 4l80e, 40 spline axles, 5.43 gear and 37's).

I tell you what too @jmag001 .... aint gonna be no such thing as reasonable budget with a motor/trans swap, 4wd, and 39's!! LOL.

PS. Was peeping parts stash. Are you planning to put 39's on stock D44 snout... and non full floater rear end?
