Our race week ended just as fast as it started. About 30 miles into the first day, the motor started to smoke from the valve cover breather, shortly after loss power and our race was over. Engine temps ran cool and oil pressure was fine leading up.

Thanks, yeah pretty bummed motor only had 3k miles. Drained the oil today, only looked dirty, plugs looked good. Going to to a compression test and scope the cylinders.

I feel ya! My engine had about 1500 miles or less and the oil pick-up tube broke...good thing it didn't ruin my billet Bryant crank haha! I had Moruzzi refresh it a couple months ago; now she can run on pump gas .

Getting the engine rebuilt, melted 1 piston and damaged to another. Plan is to get the transmission, and power steering components serviced. Motor had 3000 miles on it.

At least you shut it down quickly didn’t eat the whole motor. That’s hard to do during a race with all the adrenaline going on.

Truck is starting to get put back together. Engine rebuild, new pistons, rings and valve springs. Fresh C4 from Culhane, the converter had some damage, everything else looked fine. Rebuilt Howe steering parts. Should have it fired up by the end of October is the plan.

Got her fired up, and went through few heat cycles. Dyno tune on Thursday.
