@turbomonty as everyone knows, its common place to boost these things, so everyone swaps out to Eagle for budget, Carillo and Crower for 500+ HP.

I believe Carillo made the originals for TRD on Ivan's 5.0 truck. I heard rumors of a stroked 4.7 up to a 5.7, but I think that was in Australia, or NZ. Tons more aftermarket support over there.

I never addressed the intake being exposed to water in the fender. The liners I installed were above the intake, so it was wide open. 13 inches of rain fell in a week right after the 4th, and after several good size puddles, I found water in the CAI. Close one.....
Hopefully remedied that issue yesterday.

I copied these liners from a guy named Sam on T4R.org, who had come up with idea years ago. They are 18 wheeler mud flaps, which I thought was a good choice. Cheap and easy to cut.


As you can see the intake is fully exposed.

So I already had a Spectre 4" 90*, then I came across this You Tube snorkel idea for a Tacoma, using some Spectre intake duct work and routing it up to the cowling.


So the new tubing just slid right inside the 90 and I clamped every thing up. Then trimmed the liner to fit. Best part about it is I didn't need to Zip tie anything with the liner cut right up there snug to the 90.

Old vs New Denso. It was well over due.

Bought a Corbeau A4 on their discount page w a shaved base. Needed to replace the old drivers side. After a couple hundred test miles the shaved base was cutting off blood flow, so I took the old base and transfered the new cover which was still cut to full spec. Turned out alright.
Old vs New. The old cloth on the passenger side is still hanging on.

Very interesting the changeover from aluminum to plastic side tanks for the radiator.. Is the part number identical?

The old was plastic also. The plastic was so old it turned off white and was starting to flake and tear at the upper neck. It was WAY past due. Kind of sad I was that negligible lol.
