Let’s see some pics and spec of what gets your stuff movin! …… that could be interpreted wrong but you know what I’m asking . Engine swaps , trans swaps , power adders .

As for myself Iv been slowly collecting parts this past years to build and swap in a new heart for the bronco , only waiting on the final few pieces of the puzzle ( ordering engine parts during Covid has been a nightmare) .

It took me a while to commit to what I wanted build , ping ponging back and fourth between ls swap and staying with the nostalgic Windsor platform I decided to
Go ford .. for a few reasons ,1 Iv already build a few Ls and wanted to experience and experiment with a new platform , 2 I thought it would be cheaper ( it definitely isn’t ) and ,3 I really want to maintain as much nostalgia with the truck as possible ..

Engine break down:
The short block and the only used portion of the engine is a low mileage 347 stroker , scat 3.400 crank and rods with probe flat top pistons . The heads are the pride and joy of this build full CNC ported 165cc AFR renegade heads . Not the biggest port size but should help build a healthy torque curve . I think they flow around 270cfm at 600 lift . Not wild in comparisons to LS head flow charts but should be plenty for this little engine . And to top it off I’ll be running a Holley high ram intake manifold .. I’m a little hesitant to see how this manifold will play out .. it’s a pretty large volumed short runnered manifold even though it doesn’t really look like it .. my guess is it might hinder the torque a bit but I just can’t stand the look of any other sbf multiport manifold so I took the gamble .. Dope dude! Should be so much fun with more ponies. Do you have torque and hp numbers you’re shooting for?
Thanks dude ! Honestly I’d guess it would make between 400- 450 hp at the crank and probably 400 ft lbs . Depends on how much I want to spin this thing and how much timing to throw at it . I’d be stoked with stoked with 400hp ! That’s double what the stock 5.0 is !

This was the most in-depth I’ve ever been rebuilding an engine solely on my own.

Ran a simple ball hone. Replaced all bearings, rings, and seals

Removed the springs from in between the rocker arms and replaced with aluminum spacers.

Replaced the mechanical fan for an electric to squeeze out the little bit of HPees this thing has. First time building a shroud. Not too shabby.

I love the amount of detail put into this . How much power do these little engines typically make ?
 
mmmm engine builds!

jsut some of the newest stuff ive done

couple years ago, damx engine. billet narrow crank, crower rods, fingers oval piston, lbz block, studs top and bottom. then hamilton pushrods and valve springs along with titanium keepers and seats, LBZ heads. Set it up for 1500hp/130psi of boost and 5k rpm but its being ran at 1000hp currently

The GT's turbo setup i did last year. started at 5 psi, then 7, now we are at 9psi and im maxed on stock injectors. might bump those up and go 12psi.

hi im james and im addicted to boost. old diesel was compound turbo, old samurai had a ko3, tracker has a t3/t4, sand car has a m90 on a j32a1 honda v6, and the wifes canyon would have a turbo on the I5 if shed let me.

Looks interesting! I put AFR heads on my tired, 150,000-mile 5.8 (because I didn't have time to down it for a complete rebuild)... made a huge difference! I'm looking forward to a complete rebuild with new cam and intake.
 
Pics from 2008 rebuild.

A little lawn dart action from some desert fun munched the front of the car and a torn air filter killed the motor. Pulled dirt in, destroyed the turbo and everything else inside the engine got a not so nice sand blasting.

Ended up with a nice rebuild, forged internals, ported intake runners, head studs and a turbo off an STI. Got a nice solid tune, somehow passes smog with cats on, but it really needs to be torn down again and repainted. Wouldn't be a bad idea to go through the motor again, it uses a bit of oil these days.

Currently freshening up this 6.0 LS. So far I have it torn down as far as it's going to go. Keeping it stock, just some preventative maintenance via new oil pump, rear main seal, oil galley barbell chingadera, and lifters. Should look good, and hopefully work good, when it's in the prerunner.
