Typical 96 ranger build haha

While I agree, I have found a new method that I love even more. 2" hole saw for 1.75" tubes. Weld wherever you can that the tube is touching or really close, use seam sealer to fill the rest. Stuff holds great and fills well. I didn't even weld anywhere around the cage tubes going through my floor. The rest of the cab is plated to the cage, so I'm not worried about it.

Note: doesn't work if you need to color match paint to the cab

I'm definitely in the "cut a giant-ass hole and patch it later" camp now after doing the opposite on my truck. Welding through tiny-ass access holes and slipping tubes through exact-sized hole saw holes? Nah, gape it and patch it shut later. WAY less hassle.
Hahaha seriously though! I started with a 2” hole saw and was like man fuck this😂 also was concerned about space for welding the bedcage tubes that land on the C pillar. I’ll post pictures of the rest of the cab later, I’ll DEFINITELY be putting carpet of some sort in this thing to help hide my amazing sheet metal work😂

Shock mounts are finally finished. Was kinda a bitch to do so I had it on the back burner lol no where near as nice as most of you guys but I tired haha cnc table will be here in a few weeks and I’m sure I’ll want to redo a lot of the handmade shit I did😂

Don't redo shit... Just run it if it works for your own truck man. It's not a trophy, it's a tool.

I probably don’t redo anything at the end of the day haha I’m over it being on jackstands I just wanna enjoy it for a long time. Will build another one or do a massive overhaul one day haha

I did these shock mounts and they were quite the pain in the butt, even with a plasma table!

those came out sick I peeped them on your Instagram haha this was one of those learn as you go kinda things (the whole truck kinda has been) and I’ve learned so much, but as I’ve learned I’ve learned better cleaner ways to do things, witch is obvious I feel like everyone goes threw that with their first few trucks haha I see how you guys plan and execute shit to a T and am working towards that currently haha

Ran the last 4 structural tubes tonight, the diagonal tube lands on the pontoon tube/frame rail and runs up to the tube that exits the cab off the C pillar. Tube literally touches the cab so I welded the tube to the cab plates about 4” welds on each side as well. The straight vertical tube ties off the bottom of a junction down to the top of the frame where I already had plated because of my pie cut for the frame kick.

Truck got to breath a little the other day lol wanted to move my garage around and make a more productive work space. Cnc table will go where my welder is at currently, and I’d like to maybe make a table I can work 360* around but on casters so I can pull it into the drive way if it’s in the way for some reason. First time I was able to really step back and look at the whole thing felt cool haha

So the ranger got sold a little over a year ago and I purchased a f150 that had a giant motor sports daily driver 3 link that I wasn’t a huge fan of, so I recently chopped off the backhalf of the truck and started adding my own twist to it

Was able to test drive it with the new backhalf for the first time the other day, everything seems to be working out, almost time to flip it around and start installing the blitzkreig lt kit up front

I should add the new frame has 5” of kick, so the top of the oem frame is now the bottom of the new frame, makes 16” of up travel from ride height out of 25 overall inches. I’m gonna assume the front ends only gonna make 17ish inches which is kinda expected from a bolt on long travel kit. Only running 2.5” shocks because I’m not a baller just trying to get back in the desert and have some fun

Finally wrapped up the truck for now, took it out to the mint 400 last week and did 40 off road miles all the way to prim and it did awesome, super small kinks to work out. I’m gonna cage it here soon but kinda dreading it😂

Some photos a from the mint 400 trail run/another random weekend run we did a week or so ago. Absolutely loving this thing so good to be back out in the desert!!
