It took me a hot minute to realize what I was looking at ha

-Finished lacing up the rear seat/shock mount area,
-belt tabs
-made a couple dash tabs off the A pillar
-painting the shell
-started on a center console, it will eventually get sides and look much prettier With the low profile hardware and all that. It’s the first one I’ve attempted, not too sexy but it should hold all my things.




Glass will be going in after I get the center console wired up.

Any recommendations on windshield installers?

Lifter tick I assume. Pull the valve covers and check before you yank her out. Bummer though.

I will get into the valve cover and see if it’s anything obvious….

If it is a stuck lifter do you think the cam can be salvaged?

I’m gonna sign on to YouTube university and see how to diagnose this bitch

The cam "should" be okay. The 351 has hydraulic roller lifter I believe.

that would be some shit, Naa it’s full. But this actually has the 302, and my buddy was telling me he thinks that the 87 was the flat tap cam. (Google confirmed it) The rollers came in the mustangs that year

Ahh shit. Does it have hydraulic lifters? I tried searching...can't find details like that. Valve covers are about the only thing you can probably pull (semi easily). Check the drivers side first (looks easiest). Most likely the engine is coming out. Dang!

No LS swap this time!

Gave the ol 5.0 the ATF engine flush treatment, and she settled right on down

Drained approx 2 quarts of oil out and replaced with 2 quarts of ATF.

Ran it for 15 mins
Drained the oil and replaced with a hodge podge of engine oil and another quart of ATF, I’ll run this mix for 50 miles or so. Then I’ll do another oil change and hopefully it settles down completely

Still need to button up a few things before the shell goes back on. The goal is to drive it to work next week
