Yo! I wanted to start this to jump in on the community and share all my mistakes and hopefully learn from them lol. My truck is a 1988 short bed p/u, it has been my daily for the last 5 ish years and I’ve always wanted to do something to it and I finally landed on doing a solid axel. My idea is Chevy 63s in the rear with a set of 14” 2.5 shocks and stock rear leaf springs up front with 12” 2.5 shocks I’ve also got red or dead frame plates with the steering box relocation. I’m starting with the axel that I got for a good price on fb and was told that it had a busted hub gear… turns out it was a blown up birf :( but I am cleaning up the housing and giving it a little spray while I’m looking for a new shirt side axel, I’m also debating on waiting to re assemble the axel after I have the frame tubes and front spring hanger mounted so it’s a little lighter not sure yet. This is my first build so this is probably going to be rough for some of yall but I want to make sure I’m doing things right I don’t want a janky truck lol IMG_9828.jpegIMG_3316.jpegIMG_3431.jpegIMG_3432.jpeg
