Hey my name is Andrew and I live in Tempe, AZ. I’ve got a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT prerunner that I got 3.5 years ago and saved with the help of friends and Jameson Fabrication in Tucson. When I bought it 3.5 years ago it had a partial cage, the deavers and kings, and a camburg 5.5 kit up front. The truck wouldn’t run for more than 20 minutes at a time but eventually I chased it down to a bad computer and crank position sensor. Took it out a few times and then broke the front bumper and the rear glass, which lead to upgrades and improvements.

Love to take it out in AZ, CA, and in Baja to watch SCORE races.

YOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Never seen you around! I'm in Phoenix/Arcadia area. But we should get the toys together when it cools off! Theres fucking no one to go out with anymore here. plus not really any good SPOTS/PLACES to go to. Sycamore is the closest (i see one of your pics is at Butcher) but its such a trash dump and over run by fucking vatos locos everywhere.

Hit me up next time you go out!

either here, or my Instafuckingscammednowadays is: Jgort_91

I'm in the Phoenix/Arcadia area as well, I agree, there's not a lot of dudes that are willing to take their rigs off the pavement. Too hot now, looking forward to the monsoons hitting to cool it off just a tad.

Added you on IG @BlazeOrange3, lets get together sometime when it cools down.

Alot of folks seem to be car show guys, not offroaders.

Definitely lets hit it when it cools down. I've got a few trips planned to head up to the cinders this year.

Havent been on here in a while, but I finally moved to a place that gives me more space to work on my own stuff—definitely an upgrade from a single-car garage at a condo. I was able to prep the truck and make it to Hammers, but I ended up ripping part of my engine cage off when removing the coil bucket. Luckily, I managed to get a trail fix in, met new friends, and still had a great weekend.

Once I got home, my brother-in-law helped me pull the engine so I could repair the frame and install overlay plates. After pulling the engine, he mentioned that he had a 350 SBC I could have. I jumped on Marketplace and found a rebuilt TH400 transmission from a reputable local rebuilder for $500. I also picked up a $100 block and borrowed a friends TH400 core to mock it up and confirm fitment before moving forward with the engine cage repair.

Like most projects, the scope is expanding. Im now planning to remove the dash, lower the horizontal dash tube, and redo the down tubes and cage tie-in points & reinforcement before building the engine and transmission and shifter mounts. Swing steer may be in order as well. Class 2000 has been catching my eye, so I might start looking into leaf spring upgrades for the rear. More to come!
