school me on short course setups

question about lower link length. I see a lot of kits like ruffstuff use a 48" heim to heim and then theres 55" and 60". for my extended cab truck I was under the assumption a 55" link is where I should be. Thoughts?

A coilover cantilever with stright links or that weird reverse mezzanine setup always looked sick to me but its extra work. You do get the motion ratio back in check though.

@TotalPozerRaceing does a lot of short course things with his short course links. Hopefully he’ll chime in.

I designed some lower shock mount/link mounts eerily similar to Geoff’s some years ago. I decided I wanted to build the truck 3 times, so I went deavers, then traditional links….

Wait. I better measure the shock position on the trailing before I label my link setup…

I’ll go dump more money into my 22RTEs now, @the bodj.

You could have built a sick s10 with the money you've put into your plethora of 22RTEs

I'm running a 3 link "short course" style with the shocks off the rear axle. It's ugly AF but works awesome for what I do with it. The truck is bumped and strapped at 16 in in the front and in the rear. And I've recently moved the fuel tank behind the rear axle and change some of the valving in the coilovers as well as the bypass (not in this picture). I'm not sure how it would do in the whoops out on the west coast, most of the spots that are whooped out around here are because of the side by sides and it's mostly sandy or loose dirt. I've debated about putting the desert style canoe links on the truck but it just works so good with what I've got.
Bottom links are heim on each end, 60" bit to bolt. And mount off the frame in line with the u joint, and 1in fwd of centerline on the Axel. The top is triangulated to point directly at the center of the crank at the flywheel (drive under/over).

I can post some more pics of it and answer any questions to y'all got.

My bottom link is 60" bolt to bolt. Mounts on the frame in line with the front u-joint on the drive shaft and mounts 1 inch Ford of centerline on the axle. I can't remember exactly how long the upper link is but I could go measure it if you want
