Local Legend SAS 05 4runner prerunner build

So after the last trip in April. I ended up blowing my engine mount through my frame during a run with my buddies. Finally got around to fixing it. I ended up using a piece of 1/4” hardened steel and a 2”x4” square tube and reused the portion from the solid_offroad poly engine mounts. Hopefully this ends up holding lolD522F805-C6F8-463B-8350-F2BDE3F5312F.jpegABBDB08E-6192-47A8-9557-9B332834097B.jpeg

Most recent upgrade: I’ve been running fully hydro for about 2 years, but had an issue with my ram coming apart, figured it was my tie rod angle, so I decided to make a double sheer setup off my highsteer arm and cut out some billet tie rods (for style points). Doing this made it so I could run the tie rods flat, instead of at an angle. After two weekend back to back, I had zero issues with my steering. No more ram coming apart! Plus it just looks way cooler now lol!

Haven’t really posted many updates lately since I haven’t really been working on it much and just enjoying the rig. (I’ll post some of my trips from recent in the trip reports) but here are some little things that I changes. Took off the front fiberglass, since I cracked them, and put stock fenders back on. This will also help in the rocks with being able to see my line. I also swapped the bench out for a bucket seat and 2 pack outs to carry more gear than passanger. Back seat drivers suck lol. And then got my self a poor boy switch pro, aka auxbeam. Which has been awesome. For the price you can’t beat it!

Been MIA for a minute on this thread. But sitting here watching the BLGT podcast and figured I need to post. So went out to the BK2Baja Ride and seek a few weeks ago. (Im sure you saw B8tes post about the trip). But during the run ended up breaking the pinion support from a pesky rock on the MORE race course. Got it home thinking it was just the support. That wasn’t true, ended up finding a bunch of hair line cracks in the ring gear as well as the u-joint on the driveline being toasted. So decided to upgrade and get a James Way diff skid as well as upgrading to a Daytona style billet pinion support. Hopefully I can get more than a season out of it this time around lol.

Well it finally happened, put the truck on its side this last Saturday. Total driver error, choose a badline and stayed too high on the driver side causing the truck to slide off on the passanger side and fall in the crack. Live and learn, luckily the damage is minor. Still an epic trip! Continued playing even after it went over.IMG_0620.jpegIMG_8429.jpegIMG_8437.jpeg

After putting the truck on its side, it’s time to start cutting and redoing the front of this thing. IMG_9023.jpeg

went with mounting the bumps inside the frame rails. I’ve been running the truck for 3 years now with no bumps because I couldn’t get them to clear unless I frenched them in super far. And with the plate towers I couldn’t do that. So now it’s getting redone I just went right through the middle. Have some frame plates getting cut out right now for it before I start laying tubes to it.

also went a got some big big coolers. Figured since everything was being redone, why run the factory “oversized” radiator that I was roaching the engine with.
