RPG issues

Had a similar experience with Evil Motorsports. The only reason I sent my housing there is I asked Currie who they recommended to have my snouts welded in. Months later than estimated to get it done, the owner told me he pays the guy at Currie a kickback to recommend his shop. Dumb dumb mocked up the rotors on the outside of the hubs on my Dana 60 hubs and ended up making the housing an inch shorter on each side and drilled out the rotors so they had to tack weld the studs to the rotors after. It worked out as far as width alright with it not super narrow compared to the front, but that shop didn’t know anything that they claimed they knew when I spoke with Currie and them from the start of the debacle.
Was that evil mfh? I had a customer get his truck back with a hand tight tierod and just fucked a whole cv cage trying to replace an axle told him it was fine to drive and was baffled with how poorly they put it back together no stub shaft etc. Some ppl just don't care anymore...

The poor fitting on the fiberglass made me chuckle. Swear 90% of fiberglass just fits like shit now a days especially if it’s going on a bougie raptor, think the average raptor guy learns that the hard way haha.

Bought a McNeill fiberglass hood for my ranger and the thing wasn’t even usable, plan to use it as a sled in superstition eventually.

Don’t get me started on people who say they have shit in stock and then pull a fast one on you after you pay 😂

Yeah, a year or two after I had my axle over there similar reviews surfaced all around the internet and I sadly wasn't surprised. After I had dropped off my axle, Doug the owner started telling me how his background was in car stereo competitions and I had my doubts, but since Currie had recommended them without any hesitation, I thought they would do the job right. If I had known more shops like the ones on here like the FabLab, I would have gladly paid more and traveled further if I had to do it again.

Not wanting to get too off topic, I think Evil could have be similar to RPG where the owner's not the fabricator and obviously RPG had newbs or dope heads doing the work to manage to spray the whole rear window with sparks. Evil's guys and shop didn't exude a sense of professional work and the welder he had just hired to handle axle housings and cages had been a welder at Disney which at the time sounded like the kind of guy you'd want, but then I thought about it years later and I'm wondering what guy would want to go from a probably better paying gig wth health insurance etc. to welding for motorsports at a shop with a questionable reputation. If the shop hires unskilled or poorly skilled workers, that could account for a drop in quality as more qualified guys get jobs in other industries / shops.

I think the older fiberglass molds are even worse than the new ones. Both Advanced and FIberwerx had really poor sections on the front and rear for my 1G Tacoma. One of the Fiberwerx bedsides looked like it was designed differently and for a different truck than the other side.

The fiberglass fitment on this RPG Raptor looked pretty good - head and shoulders above what the other guy in the expose video showed which makes me think they couldn't keep a consistently skilled group of workers around, idk.

I've heard good things about Glass_tec for fixing fiberglass and I might take my bedsides there before painting them if they're still taking any work.

That sucks, I've been to the rpg shop in Santa Margarita several times to pick up parts and never had problems, any issues I did have they fixed. My truck has alot of their stuff bolted to it.

But I havet been there for a while did they move?
