Project 69

LOVE IT................
BUT.

I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THIS CONNECTION RIGHT HERE.

IT IS GOING TO CRACK/TEAR/RIP APART RIGHT HERE. unless you baby the shit out of this car, that is.......................

i know because i built my dads buggy front end the exact same way and holy shit have we had to fix cracks/add tubes/add plates/add everything there about 10 fucking times in the past 12 ish years. i have beat and jumped the holy fuck out of it though.................

if i were you and i was this early in the stage, i would definetly do this different. the 2 main tubes, running parallel to each other (that the lowers mount off of and are just sort of butted up perpendicular to the tube in ___ ) id run them all the way through and to the back. if that makes sense. ill see if i can draw an MS paint picture to help my splainninnin a little better.

You're not wrong, this was early in the build and I was figuring out tube placement. This area is completely different now with bunch of tubes triangulating into this area.

this is all the pics i can find right now, ill take some in the daylight tomorrow of the most recent revision of added tubes and shit, that seems to be staying good............

hahah ok ok.

just trying to prevent someone else from going through all the hell we've gone through until now. haha
It's appreciated, I might add some more tubes like you did just in case. I have some more room for tubing up there and I need the weight.

Finally time for electrical, my fave. The Holley terminator computer and wiring harness is so easy that even a child could install it. Found this gem online from ReVolt that made things even easier. This guy makes this panel that plugs into the the Holley harness and all you have to do is connect power wire to it and it has relays to control your pumps and fans. It was the fastest wiring job I have ever done. Heck even the Holley dash has a wire that pugs straight into the computer and just like that you have gauges.

Put fuel in it, answered some simple questions on the handheld, turned the key to on, fuel pumps came on, I checked for leaks (no leaks) and turned the key to start.
And we have liftoff, IT'S ALIVE. What a great feeling hearing her roar for the first time, what an amazing sounding machine. Happy days

i spy an AZ flag in on a wall in the shop............. are you in the best state ever, or like most everyone else and you're in COMMIEfornia & just wishing you'll move to AZ one day???????????????

and OHHHHHHHHHH holy shit. i must've spoke like 30 minutes to soon. hahah i only saw those first few pics when i posted my response. didn't see the other 5 pages of shit. haha

This is looking great, lots of work and money poured into it. I've always liked the look of built bugs but they are unbearable to drive to me as the cab is so small. When does the RTT mount get built?

Not gonna lie here, its not the roomiest by todays standard, or any standard that I can think of but since it's a 2 seater now it fits me and another person just fine. I mean my last passenger was 300lbs, no names but it rhymes with turbo. The seats sit lower and further back than stock.
