I am bored and thought you guys might enjoy a dumb story.
If you are not familiar with the website nextdoor... its basically a neighborhood website that is filled with parnoid people complaining about dogs barking, solar sales men knocking on peoples doors, any noise they hear thinking its gun shots, and now my new favorite, homeless and sketchy people with sob stories of how they were wrongly evected or how they have no money and are asking for handouts.
So a few weeks ago I was reading posts about No Kings protests on the corners, and how we all need to get out on a street corner and express our frustrations.
Now my personal thoughts on any ralley or protest on a street corner is a total waste of time. No matter what its regarding, I do not believe standing on a street corner with a sign will change anyones mind. You will get people who agree with you and honk.... and people who do not agree with you and probably give you the finger. But ultimately there are better ways to be beneficial to your cause. I feel very strongly about this, and use the analogy of Clean-Dezert. I could complain and yell at people for leaving trash, while doing nothing. Or i could start a non profit and create events and promote it in a positive fashion that actively actually does a small amount of good. So I rather use my time being productive.
Well if you put all this together, I was feeling a bit sassy, so I posted on the No Kings protest for fun, and expressed my thoughts about how pointless standing on a street corner was, mentioned about how some people agree and some people dont, and how you wont change anyones minds. I then expressed that if you waste your timing doing so you are very likley a mouth breather.
Fast forward 2 days, and I get word from work that our owner got an email stating that his employee (Me) was posting racist and homophobic slurs on this post. I didnt know what the email said, other than my boss got an email. So I called ownership, to appologize for my actions as it should never have been taken to this level. (i dont want something stupid impacting my career of 25 years) I found out more information, regarding the allegations of racistist and homophobic slurs, which is funny as he screen shotted my posts and there was no such mentions. A few days later this same person emailed ownership again complaining about me.
At this point ownership just laughed it off that this person has way too much free time to try and find information about me, about my work, and then try and get me introuble for something that has nothing to do with work. I ended up deleting my account. This is all so dumb, but its insane to think that someone who only knows a post and a user name of Adam F. went through all the work to do this, because i made a stupid comment. This world is filled with people too sensitive, and too much free time, and no real sense of freedom.
Dumb story over.
