Hoopdee 94.0 Bronco

rear valving.webp

So I have a 2.5" Fox triple bypass's on the rear of this thing with a Giant 64 kit I'm working on a frame notch and setting up the new rear end. This is my current valving from down south when I bought the shocks ( I know its to small of a diameter shock for under the bed shock angles) but do any of you have any recommendations on what valving to swap in these things as a start point because with 37's and now the weight of the tire carrier and all the tools and parts I carry i'm blowing through the bypass like its not even there. Any tech talk is appreciated. Also I know its a very situation depended question but i'm not doing professional shock tuning until the rear suspension is in it final form down the road.

Are you pretty committed to keeping the shocks under the bed?
No not at all. If i have time this off season I would like to sell my 12's and get 18's and put them into the cab. I need to do this rear end then set up the entire steering system first tho. So they may remain under the bed for a little bit longer.

Copy 👍 I’ve only messed with coilover valving so I’m not sure if (x3) 15’s is THICCCCC for a bypass. I feel like if you are blowing through those, then 20’s might create some extra heat .
Maybe some 20’s towards the bottoms of the stack would be a good place to start
Are you gonna run a hydro bump?

I have fox hydro bumps going on right now aswell. I'm starting to think I should just sell these 12's now and make the jump rather then setting up a frame notch and bumps twice.

Open discussion here I'm finding myself tempted to just link this bronco and do a single 18" coil over with a "short course" link. On that thought what is the best way to run a single shock on a link set up with a bronco? Shock tabs off the housing with a longer shock or on a traditional trailing arm for slower shaft speeds and shorted shocks? Who makes a decent WIY or non WIY trailing arm for a single shock?

IMO the short course setup is the way to go if you don’t want to hear bypasses. 3.0x18 IBP or 3.5x18 IBP.

When I was looking at link setups, Jesse Ensign’s setup was what I found to like the most. He runs a Kibbetech 48” link and a 3.0x18 IBP. Wheelbase iirc is pushed back roughly 3” like this.

That’s my plan after seeing Danny Gianninis new build I’ve looked at threat motorsports for both wiy and complete always has them on sale too

What makes you more inclined to a short course link set up?
I'd like to run the single shock mostly for noise and the cost savings lol. This bronco isn't winning any races mostly want it to be more comfortable when carting the family around. I like the idea of the threat single shock trailing arms. I'm leaning towards that set up with @Giant Geoff link pivots.
